Default Lesson...

While I "appreciate" your "lesson" , and your offer, I'm just not that desperate to sell the car for that price. You are not me, you are not in my situation, and quite honestly I don't care what you think.

I know what it takes, not only money wise, but also labor wise. I've rebuilt my C5 motor, and had it out of the car more than once, so I know what is involved. I have also researched the options for the different motors out there that would work for my application.

I'm sure you would be at my door with a trailer for 12k, and so would a host of other people, its just not going to happen.

At the end of the day it is an 8 year old car, with some mileage, but it IS my car. I am not delusional, nor irrational, nor forcing anyone to purchase anything. I'm merely attempting to see if there is someone out there that is willing to meet my expectations. If not, no hard feelings, I will keep my car, build it as I want, and have more fun with it.

Oh and BTW, the tags are not expired, they are paid in full at the moment.

$22K way high, so is $20K.....

At the end of the day its a high mileage 8 year old car.

I've done 2 of these before and either way you slice it you'll spend $15-17K before its driveable....(either GMPP 427 or crate LSX 427 or 441..like from Thompson).
The only way to save money is to scavenge remaining usable parts...maybe save like $3K.

Then you have to add in the risk of dealing with a high mileage car that someone put a cam in and you got the last 300 miles.....new clutch will be a must....may need pads and rotors as well.....then you're in $20K.

So $32K?

I'll give you $12K and I've done it before. And when its done....I'll be lucky to sell it for cost. And I'm in CA so I can be there tomorrow with a trailer.......but that's all its really worth.....$12K......
If I had your roller and someone offered me $22k that thing would be SOLD!

And your tags are expired....so that's probably another $500 with 20% late fees and all.....Been there.

WADR....Your options are very limited.
The market value of your car in a repaired state with a warranty is approx. $35K

You can't ship it.....standard carrier won't take a car that doesn't drive.

As for private party shipping....Have you ever tried to get a C6Z06 on a trailer without power? Its a major pain in the butt.....need at least two people, a winch and many 2x6s....and some luck.

For a benchmark, Jason from Katech just did one..new crate 427, comparable mileage.....for sale-$32K.....but no warranty.

A C6Z06 with a warranty is fabulous machine.
A C6Z06 without a warranty is a big risk.
A C6Z06 with a blown motor is just a big money pit.

It sounds like you may have other constraints surrounding the sale of the car.....like a loan.....so I understand your desire to get $32K.....its just not worth that much....you've already lost the money.

If you have all this time....last year and a half...I would suggest you find a trustworthy shop.....have em pull the motor...tear it down and see what is salvageable. Best case maybe a just a block and pistons and some head work.....Having the engine out will not change the value of your car, it may with some buyers increase it.

$12k from me is not without risk.....I could end up pumping $20K into it......and not be able to get $32K for it.......$12K is not a low ball.....its a fair ball. I've done it before and I know how much it costs.

Good Luck with your direction.

No carriers ship inoperable cars???? Where did you get that crazy idea from? My company purchased about a million dollars in salvage vehicles last year.

I just sold an almost identical car. I bought it with a blown engine. 2006 VY with 59000 miles. Gorgeous car. I bought a brand new crate engine from GM and installed at Katech. Sold for $34k. I would be interested in buying if the price was right.

Salvage carrier is not a standard carrier (with insurance) and there's a big difference between shipping a junker car when nobody cares about additional damage as opposed to a straight body Z06....big difference.

If your cars get banged around on the carrier who can tell right?
If something else gets broken dragging that thing on and off.....who cares right?

Yup very common, I will never own another ls7. But there are guys here who will put 1 thousand miles on there car in 2 years and say they never had any problems. I know 5 guys who have dropped valves. But who am I, nobody and know nothing.

I love how lowballers always try to justify their lowball offer with everything they can.

OP you'll find a buyer for high teens or low 20's. You have a 1 year only color and the car could be fixed for less especially if the block is salvageable

Drop a forged LS3 down in it with a blower and rock out.

Thanks for all the heart felt and sincere "good luck" sentiments. I'm sure none of them are sarcastic in nature. If you want to make an offer, you are more than welcome to via PM.

Ultimately, it's my car and I'll ask what I want to ask for it. I know exactly what it is worth to me, and if no one else thinks the same way, I will keep the car. Thanks for looking!

Geeze, what's the deal with you guys? If the guy wants to ask $32k, let him. He didn't make you click this thread. If you don't want to buy it, click the next one.

Ya sure ok, 3 guys did and they still dropped a valve. Too many butt hurt guys don't like to hear about dropped valves. If you like the car keep it. I don't like the Ls7 so I wont buy another one. Drive the ls7 hard it will drop a valve sooner or later. Just my opinion.
