2.5 BAR MAP Sensor (pics)
Hey Boys'
Here's a 2.5 bar MAP sensor you can on a E38, E40 & E67 processors when tuning for high boost.
It eliminates using 3 BAR sensors and tuning with V offsets to try and get it close.
Perfect match for the HP tuners 2.5 Bar OS.
It's good for anybody that wants to run up to 21.7 psi of boost .
The sensor is plug and play.
Here's a link if you need one:

For Supercharged or Turbocharged Engines
We use GM SENSORS for re-chipping
Not brittle Chinese Aftermarket
for a perfect seal, fit and OEM Durability
Fits in OEM Location on LS1-LS2-LS6-LS7
Here is a 1 minute YouTube video:

I've used this sensor and it works great. I just soldered a female map sensor pigtail to the sensor leads and attached it to the intake with a small hose. (after tapping the map sensor hole in the intake for a fitting).

Wow, thats a lot of fab work there. I hate to burst your bubble but there is a GM MAP sensor with part #12580698 that is plug and play. It's actually the baro sensor off the Cobalt. Granted it's only 2 bar, but it has no IAT integrated and plugs right in. Then you just need to edit your MAP sensor linear and offset values with HPT or EFI. I'm doing that now. Here's the spec sheet: http://www.powerandsignal.com/docs/P...s/09350899.pdf
I guess this doesn't work for guys running more than ~16 PSI.

Reasearch was already done on sensor 12580698
That sensor is only a 2 bar, max is 200kpa. or about 15psi The Cobalt combo MAP/IAT sensor is the only true 2.5bar GM makes.
I was watching the Cubs game and it took me all of 9 innings to make it with stuff laying around, It went by fast .

The HPT 2.5 Bar SD OS is almost ready, it's still in it's beta stage. Here is a link to stay updated.

I'm going to use a VE table generator written by Bluecat over on HP Tuners forum. I was messing with it last night and it looks very promising.

Here is the latest design.
I ordered the sensor without the body and was able to squeeze it in the OEM sensor body which makes for a cleaner look.
It took about 2 hours total to make it.
I had to drill a 41/64" hole which is very close to the diameter of the OEM sensor body to accept the new 2.5 bar sensor.
