Default Edelbrock E-Force

Anybody have more details then the attached on the Edelbrock E-Force FI system?

When will it be available?

Do they have authorized installers?

Does it come with its own ECM, or can you reflash the existing?

Does it include new injectors or use the existing?

What are they doing for a fuel pump in the 599 hp version?

Must be someone at SEMA that has answers!!!

my .02... watch out for their boost claims relative to power made. when they rolled out the kits for the new 3V mustangs their claims turnout to be a "stretch" from what the kits showed on the dyno.

they do make good power on the 4.6L 3V motor

The company is only claiming 114 hp increase over the stock LS3. Thats enough power that the stock drivetrain should hold up just fine.

I realize many people want more power etc...but I'd take 550 hp and stock like reliability any day of the week..

the warranty that is optional is also a key feature to many corvette owners....Not sure what the optional warranty costs...or what it entails...but 5 years/100k mile warranty sure sounds tempting...(depending on what it costs and what it cover)

599 flywheel hp with fuel pump mod...isn't too shabby either..

Stock clutch should hold up fine with those power levels too..

Look foward to more info as it becomes available..

i called Edelbrock today about the Corvette kits no prices yet but he thought it should be comparable to the Mustang kit. he also said the kits will not be available until the first of the year and yes there is a warranty available.
i can't wait.

So, going back to the original questions (fuel pump). What do you think would happen if I opt for the 599hp kit without actually installing the Edel. fuel pump? Let's say I am very conservative with the throttle and I just want the all thing just once in while?

your car will not get enough fuel with the 599hp kit hence the high volume pump required. call Edelbrock and ask them if you can use this, they work great.

I believe I heard him (Vic Edelbrock) say "Z06 Fuel Pump" in the video. Z06 fuel pump has a higher output than LS3 pump?

Thank you - good points and great to see there may be a less costly and intrusive work around. I'll follow up with that and post accordingly.

yes.
I was searching the camaro forums and they too are excited about the E-Force S/C.

A semi Inside person was at Sema (Nov 09') and played 20 questions with Them about the E-Force.

Here was the conscesus

-The standard c6 intank fuel pump wil make 500 HP (flywheel) and thats it. Walbro (a supplier of the fuel pumps to GM?) stated that if you add "an increased voltage to the Standard C6 Fuel pump, it will dramatically shorten the life span"

-The Z06 Fuel pump pumps more gas AND per Walbro " it can take 18V all day long and be just fine"..can anyone say Kenny Bell BAP?

-The camaro intank pump will be able to handel the 550 HP with no problem. They implied that it can handel much, much more.

-The 550HP E-force does comes with a GM z06 fuel pump, but per Elderbrock "It will take 2 days just to install the pump itself" ..as they are implying the pump will require dropping the tranny, and tanks.

wouldn't any system require the same fuel upgrades to make the same power?

The more I read this thread the more I am inclined to opt for the boost-a-pump option based on the following:

1. I do not use my C6 as a daily driver but as a weekend driver.
2. Most of my driving is leausure driving and German HGW as well. We are talking constant 1500-2500 rpm stuff.
3. I need the power for those privileged occasions of Close Encounters of the Third Kind with M3s/M5s/Porsches/Ferraris :-) If I am lucky once a weekend...
4. I buy the 1591 and use the pump as a spare just in case..

I have found a schematic on boost-a-pump but it does not illustrate were the components and work is done? Is it all done under the hood/trunck? I'll look but any help in regard is appreciated.

Grazie! Danke! Thank you!

I am trying to understand if Howard & co are building a kit on top of the Edelbrock one or they take cars in to mount the Edel. E-force and do their magic?

Or in other words, do they ship an enhanced kit?

It sounds like they will provide and mount both. I don't know if they would provide the enhanced version they're working on as a kit. Maybe they can answer the question for all of us.
