but you're not running VP Fuels M3 like we are... with the additives for anti oil consumption, that will make your cylinders and rings happy... there is a reason my little LS2 has been able to stay together with the power it makes for so long, a TON of preparation has gone into the right setup (for me) and part of said setup is 100% VP M3... I buy it by the 55gal drum and it comes to $6.42/gal... however run what you wish
No problem with me running the 50/50 distilled water and methanol because this is what my car is tuned for.
These inputs are all great information
Thanks to all of you

I have no experience with meth whatsoever, but how is spraying water into the intake good for the engine? Water doesn't ignite, it steams up. How can that be good? Does it evaporate before getting to the combustion chambers?

It cools the combustion temps when turning into steam. It does not burn which makes it's octane rating infinite. Straight water injection is common in many applications to keep detonation away.
I mix 50/50 using distilled water and meth. The meth is cheap enough at $5/gal that I'm not going to risk the engine with something else.
I know that water can't be compressed and it doesn't ignite, so the only that it can do is steam up. With that said, wouldn't steam make it hotter?
When you see white smoke coming from the exhaust, it's usually a sign of moisture in the combustion chambers. This is a good sign of a warped head, blown head gasket, etc. when also experiencing high coolant temperatures.

No, it won't heat up, in fact combustion chamber temperatures drops dramatically with alky/water mixture is introduced. Water has to absorb X amount of heat energy to change states from a liquid to steam, this is known as latent heat value of a substance.

If you pour water on something hot does it get hotter or cooler?
