Who Needs Traction??

What is this "traction" you speak of?

Got the engine in, thanks to Roberto (Stage7) coming over and giving me a hand. Thanks!

Pulling it out of the car was easy. Getting it back in... Not so much!

6 Hours later:

Lining up the transmission input shaft with the clutch is very difficult, I am convinced if I do this again I'm going to drop the engine out the bottom along with the rest of the drivetrain.
Now the easy part

Default You are on the downhill slide now

I would have never thought it would be so tough to line up the input shaft. It's usually the unexpected things that waste the most time for me. I know I spent a good 4 hours trying to shoehorn an LT1 into an 87.
I just kept taking more and more things off the car and motor until it went. I thought it was going to be a 20 minute job...

Just a lot of wrench turning left now. Hopefully everything will fall into place without too much trouble.

Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Nice build. What clutch is that exactly ( street twin carbon, street twin carbon lite, billet carbon twin ( bc2). I'm about to get a clutch and was wondering what your clutch is rwtq rated for. Thanks and good luck with your install.

That is the RPS Street Twin Carbon; it is rated at 800RWHP (don't ask me why a CLUTCH is rated in HP, but that's the manufacturer spec )and weights 40lbs (16lbs lighter than stock

Next time I'm in Carolina, I want a ride. Think that thing might make it to the Dragon this summer?

Default Update!

Got the steering rack back in (MAJOR PITA, second worse thing about the whole job so far), the ABS module and bracket, the front swaybar, all wires, grounds, plugs, sensors, my PFADT Silicone hoses (they are nice!), radiator fan, etc...
It is basically done except for the headers, intake manifold and supercharger! I'm going to install the headers as well as my Meth injection kit and a permanent wideband next week, then wait for A&A to send me my passenger side feed intercooler and finish it off!

These are exciting times

Also, as a side note:

Corvettes are incredibly simple cars!

Its amazing how few components there actually are under the hood! The entire cooling system is 5 hoses, the engine has 4 grounds, there are 4 or 5 sensors, etc... It is tight and time consuming to get everything hooked up, but the actual parts count is amazingly low when you compare it to anything European
