This is my favorite race event: All proceeds benefit the O'Riley children's cancer hospital, which, in itself, would be reason enough to go... But the racing is also world class! It is a car show, 1/4 mile and autocross (and, this year, also a rallycross in a supplied rally prepped AWD car, I am told!). Tons of stupid fast cars show up, from supercharged Vipers to modded Porshes to Evos; last Year an Evo ran a 9.8 in the quarter...
I drive 10-11 hours each way from NJ to compete, and its stormed all the way both ways both times I went there
still well worth it!
I'll be competing for my 3rd year, 2nd time with the blower. Last time I managed the best 1/4 mile in my class (A class) with a slipping clutch, this year should be a lot better, but still not good enough to beat the trailer queen Japanese race cars that consistently cleanup at that event; I really wish some of the more serious FI guys on this forum would show up there and represent
