Default Launch Control after adding HP

My experience is that the launch control does not really work after 100+ HP is added. The car just breaks the rear loose almost as much as without launch control engaged.

Wondering if anyone has found a way to reflash the ECU to adjust the launch parameters to provide better control.

i believe the Launch control features are in the BCM, nobody has a way of tuning the feature yet.

My suggestion is to add stickier rubber as you add more horsepower to keep the balance of traction vs horsepower equal. A fine line, but its your only option as of now.

What stickier rubber works for a 2010 ZR1? I have the factory installed run flats. Is there any other tire that will work for the factory wheels and provide greater traction without going to drag radials?

Very interesting. I asked this exact same question 4 months or so ago and though very few people chimed in, the ones who did said the system still worked...

I didn't think it would. Launch control works by modulating engine power via ignition timing and fuelling; not throttle. If you're making, say, 600RWHP, no amount of ignition timing retard is going to pull enough power to make run flats hook from a dead stop!
Perhaps if you add power AND traction you can keep it within the bounds the system is able to work in...

my first guess would be Nitto 555r's my buddy has 20's on his truck he uses as his daily driving tire, maybe they have your size.

It does not hook up with Toyo R888s 335x18 on 13" rims.

So it is back to the old school of launch!

I think the BCM response is correct based on what I heard back from other posts.

I can't say if LC "works" with more than 100 hp added, but i can definitively say that there is some sort of vehicle controlled action taking place. with 700 whp and stock runflats, a 4600 rpm launch gets me spinning tires. with LC active, the vehicle launches, is it a "hook?" doesn't feel like it, seems like the computer is trying to modulate something to keep the wheels from spinning, but the vehicle moves in a forward direction, in a controlled manner, at a rate consistent through several passes (and all i'm doing is keeping the accelerator mashed to the floor.)

tell me what to look out for and i'll give it some more passes tonight.
