Would the springs from the ZR1 do the trick of returning the front to proper ride height?

Would you have to change both front and back to ZR1s to keep the car in balance?

If so, does the type of shocks matter, F55 or normal?

the weight I measured is 41.5 LBS (did about 5 measurements)

the box is 1' 5' x 1' 5" x 2' 8'

the contents are as follows:
1 trans cooler
1 intake manifold with fuel rails and injectors
1 air cleaner assy (1 center piece and 2 side pieces with filters - 2005 Stock intake)
1 pulley tensioner
1 (i assume the valley cover?) p/n 1257047 GAV 1
misc hoses including 1-2 ft fuel hose

Just wondering if going to a lighter battery or possibly putting the battery in the trunk might help?

I don't think 40 or 50 lbs should make that big a difference although the new radiator might add to the weight?

I think the added weight of the new radiator is still a smart trade off..

Just throwing out ideas..

Other than the slight drop in front end height...You guys are still pumped about this E power supercharger? Right?

I think its a cool mod if it stays reliable which it should...

Zr1 /z06 power levels for all of 8 or 9 grand..(with the new radiator)

You guys are living the dream! Enjoy and keep us informed about how much your enjoying your rides...

The good the bad and the ugly are all good information ...(and the bad or ugly doesn't sound to bad at all)

So far its the alternative mounting of the horn and possible a slight drop in the front ride height...both of which can be easily remedied..

I wonder if Edelbrock is considering some new installation instruction additions...??? for the horn and the ride height adjustment as part of every installation..?

Hows the handling guys even with the slight change in front end weight bias..? (which sounds kind of minimal)

What about the supercharger unit itself? Is that what you are calling "intake manifold" ? I thought it was supposed to weight 60+ lbs by itself?

The box he weighed contains the stock "take-off" parts left over after the install. The question came up earlier in the thread about how much weight the take-off parts tallied up to.

That 41.5lbs included the box right? You didn't weigh the box solo by chance did you?

You referenced a transmission cooler. Are you sure it was a transmission cooler? That one has my curiousity up.

After an hour I decided to weigh the box solo which i estimated to be about 4 lbs.
I stepped on the scale with and without the empty box and measured a 4 lb weight difference

the weight of the take off parts seems to be about 37.5 lbs

I am having issues with pictures
I will post later

Here are pictures of all of the "take-off" parts
I assume that the cooler shown in photo #5, IMG_0361.jpg, is the transmission cooler ?

That cooler looks like the heat exchanger from the Edelbrock kit. You were one of the initial donor cars that was done at Edelbrock right? Possibly that's a heat exchanger that didn't pass their fit/finish/qc and it just ended up in your box-o-leftovers. I think that piece needs to come out of the total weight count.

Yes, I was one of the initial donor cars. I do believe you are correct about the heat exchanger, I always wondered about that part!!!.

I will post a new weight without the heat exchanger later today

thanks for the feedback

Thanks for taking the time to do this. It's a good data point to have.

Now if we can just find someone willing to weigh the sum total of all the parts that go back on.

Here is the latest

Measured weight including, take-off parts, heat exchanger and box = 41.5
Measured weight of the box alone 4 lbs (delta from my weight)
Measured weight of the heat exchanger alone = 4.5lbs (separate measurement)

Measured weight of Box and take-off parts, without heat exchanger = 37.0 lbs. The difference in weight is 4.5 lbs from 41.5 total weight. This tracks with the heat exchanger alone measurement of 4.5

I repeated the measurements at least 10 times
There was some minor variation of + 0.5 lbs in the 41.5 lb and 37.0 lb measurements.
The box and heat exchanger had no variation.

Total Take-Off Weight excluding Box and heat exchanger = 33lbs
(41.5 total wt - (4lbs box + 4.5 lbs heat exchanger)

Instead of all that fancy jazz why not just weigh a car before & after the install?

Don't have a scale that large with the proper rating

But good idea, How would you like to weigh your vette and give us some initial numbers to add to the puzzle

Interesting...that makes the total weight added with the Edelbrock kit a lot closer to 70lbs and 95% of that is over the engine rather than hanging off the front of the engine and up in the nose like a centri.

Lots of great info here, thanks for posting.

What rear wheel HP and TQ did you see in your LS3 or LS2 cars?
