Default E-Power Weight added

Anyone weighed their car before and after the installation of an E-Power?

Even better, anyone done the weighing on four scales to determine the weight added distribution?

Thanks

I don't have your complete answer but I can tell you that the complete supercharger assembly (head unit) weighs 79lbs.

Plus fluids.

I went to a LG coil over kit to bring the car back up to correct height and sufficient spring pre-load.

Default Thanks

I meant the E-Force from Edelbrock.

I guess we're talking something in the range of 85 lbs.

I suppose carbon fiber hood and front fenders, along with lighter wheels could get back about half that.

Thanks

The bill of lading I have from A&A says 192lbs. The supercharger ships on a heavy wood pallet. Strapped to that pallet is a heavy wall cardboard box about 30"x30". Inside that box are two additional heavy wall boxes that fill the entire space of the large box. One box contains the head unit packed in foam and the other box contains everything else. There is quite a bit of weight in packaging material to insure your investment arrives without damage.

It'd be interesting to weigh all the parts that are permanently removed from the car as part of the install, as well.

What is permanently removed other then the plastic air breather, the paper filter element and the plastic intake manifold and the aluminum valley cover?

Touche certainly a lot of plastic.

The only things I can think of other than what you mentioned, are the fuel rails and injectors, fuel rail covers, one or two hoses that I think were part of the fuel system.

It's not a lot of weight for sure, my point really was that the TARE weight of a shipped E-force kit is not the same as the net weight impact to the car.

In my case I added even more weight by trading the 1 row stock plastic/aluminum radiator for a 2 row DeWitts all aluminum radiator - with twice the capacity.

I have all of my take-off parts in a single box. If I get a chance to pull the leftovers out I'll get a weight. I'd guess it to be no more than about 10lbs-ish though. From memory... I think the inventory is air cleaner assembly, intake manifold, injectors, fuel rails, fuel line, aluminum valley pan, coil covers, belt tensioner, belt and a small bag of take-off bolts & nuts.

All I know is it took maximum turns to get mine ALMOST back to stock height but I'm still about 1/2" short of it. My air dam was smacking everything and driving me crazy until I got it back to almost stock height. If I had a passenger in the car it got down right ugly..... just hitting brakes hard almost put the air dam on the pavement! You wouldn't think 80 lbs would make that much difference but it did on my car. BTW I had the F55 suspension which might make a difference but I doubt it....

I repeat, I had to install LG GT2 coil overs to get my nose back up to the proper height. The stock springs go away and are replaced with the adjustable coils. My car rides perfect now and my splitter is safe once again.

My Maggie dropped the front end a little less than that....but that's still a bunch when the vette is already low. The adj screws picked it right back up with room to spare though. Before the adjustment, it was tough to get out of our driveway without scraping. The worst part of the deal was having to pick the wife up "on the street" after driving out of the driveway. Then dropping her "on the street" before coming back in. I don't know why, but she was somewhat sensitive to that "on the street" business. She's much happier now Happy wife = happy life!

I wouldn't have thought it would weigh that much but look forward to what you discover.
