What made you choose to ditch the front suspension, and go aftermarket? The weight difference is nill in comparison. Are you going to run a spindle mount?
As for the 9", are you still gonna run a rear mount transmission? Or are you running a traditional mount trans? Reason I ask, is because we've had a DSS 9" IRS in our C5 for almost a year now. Frank was instrumental in making it work. As you now know, his axle shaft are a work of art.
Good luck on the upcoming season.

As for the 9" it will still be used with a rear mount RPM Transmission.
Also when we did the K-member, part of the reasoning was to fit this...

Is that the Dailey Settup?
We just ordered one of those ourselves. It hasn't come in yet, So I didnt know we were gonna have to swap the K-member.
Kurt is also building our motor/turbo, but we are staying with 76's and the RHS tall deck. The billet block is to rich for my blood. We were originally going to run with the 88's, but he said they will split the block. This is our first venture, so Im trying to learn as much of wha NOT to do as possible..
I would have LOVED to run the rear mount 9". But it wasnt avail when we started this project. Heres a picture of our housing out of the car. It mounts tto the chassis up top. Are you running the 33 spline axles as welll?

You will need to loose the motor mounts to use the Daily kit... so at a minimum you will need to motor plate it. But something tells me you guys have done that. You can clear the factory k-member (I think) as long as the motor mounts are gone, but we wanted multiple things from this K-member.
Weight, Motor plates, access to the botom of the motor, more clearance for other parts of the upcomming turbo kit, and the new brake setup.
I realize I didn't loose a ton of weight, but all told with the brakes it should be 70-80 net lbs lost and we are really trying to get the car down to 3300lbs with me in it, so every little bit helps.

Other than the additional voltage, what beniifit do you see going to a 16V system? I looked into those batteries, but didnt know enough to make a decision.
Are you gonna run an alternator? Or are you going straight battery life?

More fuel pump volume.
More water moved for an electric water pump.
You can choose to not run an alternator and the voltage won't dip too low during a pass.
