Having sold off my A4 2003 Procharged, LG long tube headers, & 3.42 diff almost 1 yr ago, I am looking at getting back in the game.
I would look for an A6 (need auto due to being a left leg above knee amputee) LS3 w/the Performance axle option - I believe that would be a 3.15 ratio (?). The plan would be a Procharger @ 7lbs boost, and long tube headers. Anyone have this setup or can estimate what kind of RWHP & TQ Dyno numbers this would produce?
All depending on dyno and tune could make 550-600 or so.
My old G8 before i did alot of the mods was a procharger kit on 8psi A6 and a 6.0 motor made 499 on a mustang dyno.
Yeah, no Meth. Going with 7 or 8 psi as I do not plan to change any internals and want the engine to last. I was thinking 600 rwhp would be a close estimate.
7 to 8psi with A6, no meth, and stock cam? 600rwhp would be quite the accomplishment
Ok - so this is why I posted the thread - looking for realistic expectations. Your comment seems to think thats high but then you do not offer any estimates that wouldn't be "quite the accomplishment".
BTW - would also be adding long tube headers but no internal mods.
On my 08 LS3 A6 I recently did an ECS SC1500 with restrictor plate installed. Combined with American Racing headers and high flow cats, a 3000 stall converter and a 3.42 Diff tuned conservatively on 91 octane I made just under 600rwhp and 535rwtq.
With the converter and gears, the car revs up fast putting me in the power band at the drop of a hat when required. Most on my city driving is below 3,500 rpm and the car drives as if it were bone stock.
If you plan to lean on it hard in the future... I'm not sure the A6 is your best option. You may want to consider an '05 car with the A4 trans. You can pretty easily upgrade to a snappier and beefier 3.42 C5Z rear diff too.
Just throwing that out there. Not trying to poop on current A6 owners.

I thought that too but not because I plan to lean on it hard every time out. On my 03 Procharged C5 w/long tube headers and Borla catback, the tranny held up fine and I also went from the 2.73 to a 3.42 diff. I was looking at an L3 over an L2 but if I do come across an 05 w/the Performace Axel (which is a 3.15 diff as opposed to the Performance Axel on the A6 at 2.73), I would just concentrait on a Procharger, long tube headers, and a cat back sys - and a tune. Then maybe heads and a cam down the road.
My 03 had a conservative tune and boost set at 7psi and made 475 rwhp

I have an internally stock LS2 with the A6 coupled with an A&A V2 kit (7 PSI) and LG Pro long tubes. My car dynos at 541rwhp and 494 ft lbs torque. You should squeeze out a few more ponies with the 30-36 flywheel hp difference with the LS3.
A&A V3 SI,Kook's 1 7/8's, Meth and a very conservative tune with the 3.8 pulley at 8ish LBS. of boost with the stock convertor 608/554..
Have since pullied down to 3.6 pulley and added a 3 disc 2800 stall Vigilante in a stock A6. Have had "0" problems with the transmission after a spot on tune from Doug at ECS..
