the car makes 1320..we just turned it down a little since it was my first time out.

60mph at the air strip Dead hooked..
im on 15" mickey thompsons. my limiting factor is gearing.. 60 just isnt good for a vette IMO.. zr1 or z06 trans its 2nd gear.. z51 its TOO high in 2nd and will blow tire... z51 its 3600ish in 3rd.. which is low but awesome for traction. If i change trans then i introduce an extra shift ... i have to do all my bench math before i commit to changing out my gearing,

Come on Daniel! I know what your name is lol! Yeah I was talking about Joe's.

On the gearing comment I personlly think the ZO6 1-4th is perfect for this event, the ZR1 5th would be nice for sure. But with no ***** down low the F1X suffers on the 3rd gear take offs, but mine and most TT kits have enough power/TQ to pull 3rd like a monster and limit your shifts which is better IMO. 2nd is to much power to hit just about any tire with at the power levels above 1200rwhp for sure. I didn't take my car as I haven't quite finished it so I wasn't going to rush. Sorta like Danny and the Lethal guys trying to fix things at the airfeild because they haven't had the time to test the cars and fix some of the issues, didn't want to be that guy again lol! Nice meeting you DSteck.

Likewise. I had a blast meeting a lot of people face to face that I've only talked to online over the years. The T1 guys were awesome.

We might bring the F1X car next year with a 3.15 behind the 4L80.

Cool. The auto cars should do well when theyre working correctly. Daniels is a perfect example of the potiental. But they have to be working right as Kelly Bise's auto car was plaiged all weekend not running right. But thats what happens at these events. Try to get a car to make a good pass without enough testing etc... I'm sure Lethal and KP will get those cars lined out, just didn't happen this event.

Luckily this car runs right. It's got a ton of street mileage including floggings.

Quite disappointed with my performance but not butt hurt over it. Car trapped slower on boost with bigger turbos and downpipes and more boost than it did the last TI. These bargain basement turbonetics 62/65's I had fabbed to mate to the TTIX kit are definitely sucking *****.

First attempt at spraying the 150 shot didn't go well. Luckily Feldman was still having issues at that point and was well behind me.

Then after that run we checked the NO standalone fuel cell and it was dropping pressure and the fuel was wicked hot. Once it cooled down it started making pressure again. It's mounted where the battery used to be and apparently it doesn't like the heat from the TT kit. The cell was warping at the bulk heads.

So we drained the fuel out of it, maxed out the meth and added 10% to the boost range to convert it to a dry shot. The SWAG at fueling was good as AFR was good. It hooked a little better this time, hazing the tires all the way through 3rd and 4th. But it started breaking up in 5th and the logs showed it knocking it's *** off despite AFR and timing looking good. Then after I passed the flags and was mostly done braking I noticed the RPM stuck at three grand although I wasn't giving it gas. Made my turnaround, pulled over, shut down and popped the hood and heard the nitrous still spraying. Iced down the intake pipe as it emptied the whole bottle.

And it was spitting coolant out between the head and block on #3. So I was done for the weekend.

Pulled the head yesterday and the block and pistons look good but the gasket and head not so much.

Should be able to repair the head. Haven't looked into why the nitrous stuck open. Not sure if it was electrical or mechanical. If electrical it's a damn good thing it was just converted to a dry shot or it would have gone boom! But I think the head damage was mostly from it lifting in 5th.

I guess I didn't know Danny's car went 184 before breaking. Thats awesome! Feldman ran very strong once problems were sorted and Joe did too. Joe you need to find me if you need something at the track as I usually have everything. Esepecially something as small as a hose clamp! **** my car was down, you could have had one off my car.

Yeah I wonder how well a good setup auto vette would do in that event format.... I think it would be tough to gear a big power vette geared tall enough to yield enough speed without using OD...

Tejano blue had a powerglide and it obviously worked for them, same the thing with the blue 1% Viper from a few years ago with a glide..... I just think to go 175-180 mph at this event only using high gear (1:1), you would need some 2.73 or 3.15 gears like David mentioned, or some 30" tires or something.

The converter would have to really be right to work in this format.. It would be interesting to see a big power, auto vette setup for this event, it would pretty much be in 3rd gear for the whole pass..

Bill that sux your car got hurt, however you were lucky it didn't backfire when the solenoid stuck open...That could have been REAL bad....Glad to see the block didn't get hurt, had that been an aluminum block, it would have been torched.

How fast did you go on turbo alone? Did you have it maxed out on the turbos?

No doubt you'll have it up and running in a couple weeks.

I think I went 157.x on boost only. Last event it went 162.x. But thinking back that may have been on these same turbos and downpipes. I donno. But 24# should trap a lot better @ TI than 150's. It's a pig. It is what it is.

We may find out next year. My car from 60 would start in 2nd gear, but I can get away with 3.42s and a 28" tire because I don't make enough power to really break past low 170s, and I have a lockup converter, so I can spin out the engine and do about 172 in third gear. More power would definitely warrant a different rear end or stupid tall tires.

Yeah considering you ran 150 in the 1/4, I would definitely expect more then 15x anything starting from a 60 roll and running 200' longer... Maybe time to get it on the dyno and make some pulls to check it out and make sure the power is there..

Get the head fixed and get it patched up and get it on the dyno to see where its at... I would think 24 psi should make 1k unless you have a bunch of back pressure.

Yeah I'd like to see yours out there with the 80e. You could use OD with that tranny if you needed to but....It would need big power to pull it.

Mine is only good for about 165 ish in 3rd (1:1) with 3.42s and 28"s, 162 mph is 7200 ish.... but I can't lock my converter at WOT and its fairly loose... (11% slip). I can't use OD at wot...atleast not too many times. Ofcourse I don't make any power anyway so its not really an aspiration of mine to setup for this venue... Too rich for my blood..

Triple disk for the win. I wouldn't want to shift mine into OD under power, although I could probably do it a few times. It's a Level VII 4L80 from RPM, but that sprag would probably hate life. I really wish somebody made a 3.15 or 3.23 gearset for the C6Z diff.

Were the trap MPH results comparable between other events?

I know the lambos and a few GTRs broke 200, up to 217 last spring. That was more of an 'exhibition pass' starting way before the typical hit, but still.

That sucks about the car Bill, hope all this tear down/fixes/changes not only gets the car back up and running but maybe sorts out some of the issues you mentioned about being down on power.

I think everyone was going a little slower this event than before.. there was a lot more of a head wind VS the last 2 eventss when there was a tail wind..

I was Very happy with the build and my shop.. My builder was out there ready to help with what ever i needed.... Ti was an awesome event.. it was good to see more vettes there
Awesome car for sure!! Glad to hear you driving it there, beating it up and driving it home! It would be awesome if more vettes attend future TI events.

thanks!.. i think im pretty much done power wise.. need to swap out my fmic but thats about it.. with my tire and rev limit my car wont do over 180... and i would need to add nitrous to get there.. not really worth it to go through all that hassle for 5-6 mph and still not be competative with the big dogs... i would like to get 175-176 out of it and keep it a boost only centri setup.. I'll leave it to you and shawn to chase the lambos

LOL Jeff!! Little update on the car. Danny talked to Brian @ LME and he mentioned that the head studs (arp) we are using could have possibly stretched and caused the head to lift. Danny is still going over car, double checking everything. Heads should be at LME today for repair and machining for solid roller valvetrain
