thanks!.. i think im pretty much done power wise.. need to swap out my fmic but thats about it.. with my tire and rev limit my car wont do over 180... and i would need to add nitrous to get there.. not really worth it to go through all that hassle for 5-6 mph and still not be competative with the big dogs... i would like to get 175-176 out of it and keep it a boost only centri setup.. I'll leave it to you and shawn to chase the lambos
Beating those Lambos was the initial goal but those things are stupid fast! So my personal goal is to run a 200+mph trap speed on boost only @ T.I. Before adding more boost, we need to hook up the Pro EFI and put it to the ground first.

Ill wait till all you guys figure out the pro efi before i do anything.. i really dont want to throw 5th... which limits me to 180ish on a 28" tire @ 7500ish rpm.
Yeah I wonder how well a good setup auto vette would do in that event format.... I think it would be tough to gear a big power vette geared tall enough to yield enough speed without using OD...
Tejano blue had a powerglide and it obviously worked for them, same the thing with the blue 1% Viper from a few years ago with a glide..... I just think to go 175-180 mph at this event only using high gear (1:1), you would need some 2.73 or 3.15 gears like David mentioned, or some 30" tires or something.
The converter would have to really be right to work in this format.. It would be interesting to see a big power, auto vette setup for this event, it would pretty much be in 3rd gear for the whole pass..
I am not sure where the line is for big power or not, but Austin (C5austin) went 157.7 last event banging off the limiter the last 150ft or so, because he ran out of gear. We hoped a converter change was all he would need to really see what it would do, but then he went and swapped to an f1x so we won't know. He is just running a basic rebuilt 4l60e and locking it in 3rd with hp tuners for the entire pull.
I definitely had a learning curve with the launch and trying to get traction. I don't know how the 12xx+ guys do it. I was spinning through 3rd on a couple pulls.
It's nice hearing some of you guys share trap speeds to actual numbers, as I didn't really have any accurate numbers to go off of, apprently our local dyno is way off.

traction was easy for me.. i got up to 60.. and litereally just mashed my foot to the floor it dead hooked and scooted..

Man, I must have been doing it wrong. I put it in third as well, but i tried just stomping it and I spun a good deal. I went down on a brand new pair of drag radials, came home with a need to purchase new ones lol.
Great event guys and all the vette's did good for having small issues and hope u get your car squared away Bill and this is marco felipes bro we hung out under my tent all weekend.

Thanks for the shade man. Always nice hanging out with you guys even though we only see each other at TI's.
got to meet TONS of new cool people @ Ti.. the good thing is because of my odd physical shape.. im hard to miss and easy to find and most of the time im friendly...
Ya I definitely plan to step up from my 325/45/17's. Time to do the 15" conversion of the winter to be ready come spring time. And... add a little more power.
Had fun this year and think it went pretty well for my first time out. 169.17mph bouncing off the rev limiter 100+ft before finish. Raising my rev limiter to 7200 should net me 172-173 pretty easily. I was pushing a small amount of coolant out of my reservoir tank, but it was also very full so may have been slightly lifting the heads. Ran it on Sunday and it didn't do it again, but blew a charge pipe off and lost the t-bolt clamp (should have found you bill). Overall a good weekend and look forward to upgrading a few things and trying again in the spring!

Joe was that 169 on motor or spray? Good numbers either way.. Sux it lifted the heads. That on E85 or pump/meth?
Great job first time out. That little blower kit has been puttin in work for a long time....
Not 100% sure it lifted the heads. car is fine. Pushed about a cup of coolant if that out of the cap and the coolant was well over the fill line, but the 169 was on spray. I plan on pulling the heads off and checking everything over this winter anyway. Little more rpm and i'll be good to go for the spring
It was an awesome 3 days of racing I really enjoyed every min of it but I really hoped for a better LS Showing those GTRs & Lambos were all over the place.
Congrats for the AMS Team they deserved the win with that nasty Alpha Omega.
It was great meeting some if you guys I hope to meet everybody else next time.
if anyone wanna see a lot of pics check VENOM Racing at Facebook I'm still uploading more.
