My ECS supercharger from ECS should be shipping this week and I will have Matt at Florida Speed and Power doing the install along with 1 7/8" long tube headers and 3" X pipe with high flow Cats. I want to end up with 600 + rear wheel HP. Would the Meth injection and a blower cam be a good addition at this point? I am new to the LS world I am just an Old School Drag Racer! Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

At the very least meth is a very good idea

With meth and cam how much RWHP should I expect and will it kill reliability? My car is primarily a weekend car and I want reliable HP.

I'm not that familiar with ls3's so someone else will have to answer the rwhp question. I know 600 is easily doable.

The whole point of adding meth is because it increases reliability, not the other way around...

Meth is awesome!!! I am on a stock LS7 short block, heads, cam, long tubes, procharger pulled to 7 psi, 93 pump with AIS dual nozzle meth kit and just made right at 750 rwhp on my 08 Z before the Mantic 9000 went it. You will see a very nice increase for what you spend on the kit.

After reading some other threads I think I am sold on the Meth! How much is a 5 gallon can of Methanol and how long does it usually last the average junkie? I understand it depends on how hard you run the car.

I get VP Racing M1 in 5 gal cans it comes out to around $6.70 per gallon from my local speed shop. My AIS rear mounted tank hold under 3 gallons and it only uses meth under WOT and kicks on at 5 psi around 5k-5500 through red line. Green light on = 2 nozzles spraying meth. A full rear tank will last me a full night of fun on the Mexican highways :-)
Worth every penny IMO

I need to figure out who has it around here (Greensboro, NC). I found someone in Charlotte but really am hoping to find something closer

I could always order it direct, but I believe VP's prices were pretty high unless you're buying it by the drum

What's the consensus on M1 vs M3 vs M5? Stick with M1?

edit: M1 is about $10.60 a gallon before shipping if you order it from vpracingfuels.com

If I'm out for a while I will get my low level red light to come on. I have not completely run out yet but I always top it off.

I have not tried anything but M1 since that what the car was tuned with. I'm honestly not sure about the differences in performance between M1/2/3 etc

From what I was reading around the internet and other car forums, M1 is more for Meth Injection while M3/M5 is for an actual fueling source, like funny cars etc. The added additives I'm sure would wreck havoc on the pump seals more than the already pure meth does.

Gotcha. I can probably get pure meth cheap from Ashland chemical.. I'm just not sure what difference there is in pure meth vs. VP's M1. Guess I could try to figure that out

I've been using Sunoco methanol. It is also 100% meth and for me much easier to find.

You can go through it pretty quick when doing the longer highway pulls.

You have it at Sunoco's around you? Nice

Well I'm on my way up to have the kit installed and tuned along with a couple other little things

Not at Sunoco stations themselves. Sunoco has their own brand of race fuels which can be found at various shops. I go to an ATV shop for the methanol.
