I live and work in the Detroit area, specifically near the Chrysler tech center. When I heard about the new Dodge Hellcat I knew sooner or later I would be crossing paths with one on the way to work. So last year I worked with a local performance shop to come up with a plan to make my 2010 grand sport vert a kitty killer. Well this last Tuesday on my way to work I got my first crack at a bright green kitty. Out of nowhere a bright green car appeared in my rear view mirror and waved at me, at that point I dropped to third gear and let it eat to the tune of leaving the green car 6 to 8 car lengths behind me. I just wish I could of seen the look on that guys face when he got stomped by what he thought was a stock Grand Sport. I am sure that will not be the only time I will cross paths with one of those kitty kats so I am thinking about getting some small vinyl kat stickers to put on my front fenders for each kill. What do you guys think?
Working for the automotive industry is such a grind that it does not take much to liven up my day. Of course it dose not compare with real estate questions or Harlem globe trotters performances.

That'll put a few scratches on that heavy a$$ed kitty. I notice, on your dyno curve, that thing is definitely dying on the top end.....It has almost an extra 100hp vs stock at 2500 rpm. The difference goes up from there. Nobody cares about that on a street car. Typical lowly Heartbeat TVS stuff

My research shows the Hellcat weighs in around 4,450 and most people state the motor is underrated and most likely pushes out 750 HP. For the same of comparison lets stay with HP at the crank so that equals 1 HP per 5.93 pounds
Blown C6 is around 625 at the crank and it weighs in at 3,200. That's puts it at 1 HP per 5.12 pounds.
It shouldn't even be close, the blown C6 should smoke it on a roll on or from a standing start.
The few manual trans Hellcat dynos I've seen have put down in the neighborhood of 660 rwhp. I'd say it's very likely underrated, but it's not going to run with a car making similar rwhp and weighing 1000 lbs. less.
I've never been a Mopar guy, but I've seriously considered buying a Hellcat Challenger. I want to see what these things can do with the help of the aftermarket.

Don't do it Andy. The culture shock from going BMW, Corvette, dodge might be more than you can take. You need to back off and think about this a little before making that leap

So this street kill is not a stock for stock comparison....so, when the green kitty adds a few mods and meets you on the way to work again, let us know how that works out for you.

Don't worry.... probably won't happen. I don't think they're going to be discounting the Hellcats anytime soon, and I'm not buying one for MSRP. After almost 6 years of 'Vette ownership though, I'm starting to consider something else. The Hellcat is the first car that's made me really think about it. I love the new M4 too, but two BMWs is too many. I'm not snobby enough for that

The maintenance on two BMW's is what would scare me
(obviously not as big of an issue if you're under warranty, inconvenience aside)

Well, I'm a BMW Tech. So parts are cheap and labor is free. The employee purchase/lease deals are pretty good too. I think I'm now on my 6th one.
My modified 335i sedan has been the most fun daily driver I've ever had. Makes 480 rwtq just about right off idle, and is just so easy to throw around. A lot more controllable than either of my C6s have been.
