Default Quick Nitrous Question

I have a quick question, for those of you who are running nitrous and spraying 100 or 150 shot, how much power are you actually picking up? When we started tuning, got the car dialed in on N/A, on 50 shot my car only picked up 30hp and 50tq, dialed it in and didn't bother to tune higher because I have the LNC box for timing and figured it was set due to changing both nitrous and fuel jets when upping the shot.

I am curious if my car is actually picking up 150 or maybe picking up 120ish. Stock TB & Intake with NX Plate Kit...

Thoughts?

H/C Z on a 100 Shot NX Plate Kit that was recently Dynoed picked up only 70hp. Thinking of going with a 63 or 64 on mine hoping to pick up 150 at the wheels.

I think all setups are different and only way to know for sure is on the Dyno.

Most of the time a 100 shot will pick up 100 rwhp and 100+tq. Every situation is different though. How much timing are you pulling? Plugs and gap? AFR?

Ok, that makes me feel a little better, I thought maybe something was off with the car.

I've been around nitrous motorcycles and currently have a nitrous Hayabusa on a 60 dry shot, picks up 60hp almost every single time on the dyno. This is my 2nd wet kit so just wanted to double check. I guess I need to hit the dyno and play with the jets to make sure I'm getting my 150 hit...

I am running TR6 plugs, I forget the gap, pulling 2* for every 50 shot, NA timing was set at 28*. AFR is around 11.4 on nitrous I believe

Are you going up in octane on your fuel or just pulling timing?

Usually 2 degrees per 50 is conservative but you dial the timing in by looking at the plug right after a dyno pull on nitrous and see where the timing make it and see if you need to add or take away timing.

Also we usually recommend a BR67EF on nitrous for 100hp shot.

11.4 is still on the rich side as well so you are probably leaving some power on the table at that AFR.

On a 100, I picked up 130/100, and on a 150 w/ 109 I gained 170/250. I am running Nano with the setup though...

I can't believe people are still running tr6 plugs with nitrous. The heat range is ok for a smaller shot but you really need to run a non projected tip plug for nitrous. Tr6 is not a good choice.

What is the recommended plug for a 150 shot? I bought a Fast 102 Intake so hopefully that'll help with gains over all since it will flow a little bit better.

I would personally use a br7ef although you could probably use the br6. Much better to have a slightly too cool plug than too hot.

I'm not running nitrous anymore but when I did, I gapped br7ef at .024.

On the LS7 I pick up about 120 HP on a 100 shot pulling 5 degrees of timing out of it via the LNC controller. That is on a H/C/I car so I am sure that the cam has a lot to do with that increase while on the shot.

I have a stand alone fuel system with 110 octane leaded gas in it. I am using the BR6EF plugs as the BR7EF did not give me good low speed drive ability. Gaps are at .025.

I'm spraying a 150 shot with ms109 in the standalone. With our ****** 91 octane fuel, we had to pull out 10 degrees of timing to be safe. Starts out at 12.2 a/f ratio and ends up around 11.9 on the very top of the run. Car sees 160hp to wheels and 235 torque to wheels. Has a lot to do with my itty bitty CMC reverse ground cam. I'm on stock tb, stock intake, stock heads and stock axle back xhaust!! Also made the pulls in a humid 100 degree shop with over 7000' of air. Guys will argue my setup but these c6 z's are no joke...

So op set up is not dialed in correctly? Is the problem in the tune?

I recommend never running a TR-6 plug, and the reason why, is it could cause a misfire. This happens because the ground strap practically becomes a glow plug, because it cannot dissipate all the extra heat when you are on the spray. The way you counter this, is by going with a non-projected tip plug which in turn helps shorten the path for all the heat being absorbed by the ground strap.

Could be a handfull of thing, timing could be low, bottle pressure could be low. Lines could be causing a restriction ect. ect.

First thing, what size lines are you running from each solenoid to the plate?
