So I was prepared to put the car away for winter storage this past Monday, but since the weather here in Michigan has been absolutely incredible this past week, I decided to hold off.
The car was sitting in the garage for about a week on a battery tender while I awaited the dreaded moment when I'd have to put her away. However, this past Wednesday I had some time on my hands and decided to take her out for a run.
When I turned the car on, it turned on just fine...very loud, but just fine. I switched into reverse and the thing almost flew out of the garage, I could barely hold the brake down. The RPMs also fluctuated up and down and it sounded almost as though it wanted to stall for a second, but it didn't. Is this normal? Should I have let it run first to get up to temp?
Once I got it out the garage and put it back into park it was fine.
I'm sure it has something to do with the tune. I spoke with the original owner over the phone and he informed me that the car was tuned for warmer climates since he hardly ever drove it to begin with, and when he did it was only on nice summer days.
For reference, Engine Mods:
Edelbrock E force S/c / Edelbrock CAI / LongTube Headers / Blower Cam / A1000 Fuel Pump / Exhaust ....
Idle speed can be set to different speeds based on engine coolant temp, engine run time and in gear vs. P/N, so it's possible it's set a little too high at lower temps or something along those lines. It's really impossible to say without seeing the tune and a log, but something like that is likely all it is.

I guess I'll just let it warm up going forward before putting it into gear.
Just wondering if it was normal. It doesn't behave like that at all if I make a quick stop and go back out to the car and start it again.
