If you have a boost a pump installed and it stops working, will the pump shut down? or just drop the pressure? Please let me know as I am trying to identify the pressure drop on my car fuel pulp at 5800rpm's.
The BAP is just a voltage booster, so if it fails to switch on, then your fuel pump will still run on the normal ~12 volt supply that it would see at idle, off-boost, etc., so the pressure will drop if you're running at a power level that consumes fuel beyond the capacity of the stock un-boosted pump.
Super, thanks, I thought that the boost a pump will cut the fuel pump power if the fuse burns.
If the FP fuse burns out, the pump will shut down. Not so sure about the BAP fuse. I think that will only cause the BAP to fail to switch on, at least on my car, which has the Racetronix harness. This concerns me too, to be honest. IMV it would probably be better if it shut down completely rather than causing the motor to run lean without you knowing, just because the BAP isn't activating!
Yes, good to know. Has this ever happened to anyone here? the BAP blown fuse or damaged?
In order to not be with the scare of that, I ordered a Z06 fuel pump, that will take care of it without the BAP.
