Heads are done and back..... time to get to work putting things back together. What a pleasure to work with someone who really knows what they are doing. Little did I know what a bad job the last guy did.
Not to mention the Lambroghini sports drink jug!
This guy is all about power!
Looking good there Jody. What did you have done to the heads?
Really was just to change the guides but turns out the last guy made a mess so redid the seats also. The guy I use now builds only serious racing engines and knows his stuff. He did bunch of little tweaks. Should work great.
I'm probably showing my age but back in the day a 3 angle valve seat was the rave. Thin seating area on the valve and bevels leading in and out. Not sure if any of that old school stuff is still relevant though. What's the latest and greatest regarding valve seating?
I remember porting and polishing an old set of cast iron heads and basically going blind for 3 days after the dust polished off a few layers of my eyeballs. Yea, I know that was stupid
Was amazingly clean when it came apart. Cleaned it a little with a razor blade scraper, and then a little brake cleaner to make sure there is no oil or contaminants.
I figure at half hour a day this will be a winter project. Checked wipe pattern. All good. Now have to order pushrods. Will have some nice Trend 7.350 , 3/8th, .080 wall for sale.
