Default Why direct port?

Is there a real benefit for a direct port 150 shot?

I see that 150 shots seem to be fairly common for a LS3... making around 125whp and 225wtq. Those are normal wet shots though.

I see some LS7s using direct port but not many LS3's.

Was wondering what a safe, max shot would be and if Direct Port is worth it.

Wondering what a 175-200 shot would do to the motor!

A plate kit works well up to a 250 shot at which point a direct port offers better control over nitrous and fuel.

Read: You'll be fine with a plate kit and cash in your pocket. Direct port for a 150 shot is like bead locks for a 10 second car.

Stock bottom end is more than capable to handle a 150 shot, no?

Gotta worry more about the clutch and such?

There are tons of SBE LS3 cars running 200-250 shots. You need a competent tuner, a progressive controller, and plenty of fuel.

Are you asking about a plate kit vs a direct port, or if an ls3 can take 150hp+ shot?

Anything under a 200 shot I'd recommend a plate kit. Above 200 then the Direct Port becomes your better choice. Direct port allows for even distribution between all cylinders.
Stock LS3 can take a 200 shot all day, some even more but then your testing the waters.
Let me know if I can help you out with anything.
Great Forum price just PM me.
