Default Procharger bracket the cause ?

The skinny.....F1A 8 rib made 14 psi on the Dyno with notable belt slip (my belt was a hair to long and the tensioner was maxed out). Since then I've replaced the terrible dongle with a 4" custom piece, switched to a green belt that's the perfect size, and optomised the intercooler setup dropping IAT's. Problem is boost sweeps to 12, stops, and drops back to 10

I've read here and there that even the new Procharger bracket is terrible and the tensioner buys the farm pretty easy......so is that my trouble ? (No boost leaks, intake bolts still snug, and everything else peachy). Should I just order the A&A bracket or just do a flip drive and see where I'm at ?

Never had these troubles with my ECS.....

I would go with A&A's bracket and new secondary drive. I had a similar belt slip issue with my Ti trim. With an F1, the slip issue is probably worse. Going from a 3.4 pulley to a slightly larger 3.47 pulley with secondary drive, I picked up 2 lbs of boost compared to the original set up before it started showing belt slip.

I don't have experience with ECS brackets but with the A&A brackets and an 8 rib it took some real fine tuning to end up with zero belt slip on a D1SC at 900whp with no secondary drive. I can't imagine it would have been any different with another bracket.

I think an F1A is just way too much blower for a street car with an 8 rib belt. I think 10 rib or secondary drive.

I also run the A&A Procharger bracket on my F1X and it takes 25 psi with zero issues and I am still on a 8 rib. If it decides to eat belts I will upgrade to a 10 rib set up but there are a good number of guys making 1200+ whp on a 8 rib set up

a&a... have had mine on for the last 2.5 years with zero issues, pretty much it's been set it and forget it... they make the best blower stuff out there for these cars in my opinion, their quality and customer service can't be beat

rechmech has a secondary/flipdrive though and no way an f1x is running 8 rib without a flip drive?

the op is asking about no flip drive

I have yet to see a street car make >900whp reliably on 8 rib without flip drive or they have slip. It's not the bracket imo it's that an 8 rib without a flip drive is not going to do an f1a. Given the flip drive alternator issues reported of just do a 10 rib or do flip drive with a billetech alternator

The new A&A secondary drive eliminates the alternator issue.

I've run centrificals for a long time but never had anything as big as the F1A so it's a bit of new territory for me where belt limitations are concerned. I think this is exactly the information I was needing

I've seen the billetech alternator referenced elsewhere.....does it have less load/higher efficiency that helps or is it just higher output that even with a touch of slip is still plenty ?

I like it but wish it didn't require a proprietary balancer....kind of fond of my ATI

The newer A&A tensioner is really good, you tighten the belt and the release the tensioner. Running a flip drive and 10 rib here and had no belt slip issues, not sure on the boost but maxed out a ZR1 map

It makes for easy setup having all of the pulleys on one bracket. I had to mill the back of the blower pulley to get it to line up with the others on the bracket. As with any other bracket belt alignment is key, it may be a pain taking the blower on and off but at the end of the day it's worth it.

Saw the new PC 12 rib race bracket slip like crazy on a F series blower. Swapping to A&A bracket with a 10 rib, and slip was fixed.

Either way, with a F-series blower you will want a direct/flip drive. So pick your poison, either A&A or ECS with the DDs will work and support the blower.
