I appreciate your post, I basically build half my car over things you’ve recommended in past posts lol. I was looking at the A&A one but the alternator bracket doesn’t look like it would work? Mine has some bracket on the top part that moves the alternator out twords the dirvers side of the car

Yes it will work. I have a spacer bracket there too, and it doesn't interfere.

I bought the 8 rib OD balancer direct drive with the 2.8 cross cut pulley and rpm belt. Installing it soon. Supposed to hold well and not slip per the comments with the cross cut pulley.
Pondeirng sending back and just going with 10rib tho.

i believe (from AA) that with overdrive the 2.85 is lowest you should go to max out ysi RPMs

Obviously dependent on the max rpm you run to...

From what I read, the ysi doesn’t mind being over spun and still makes efficient power. Again no first hand experience with this yet. I think I’ll be in the 70k or under range so it should be safe.

It may like to be overspun for max power, but I doubt its great for longevity. No real need to overspin it for a street car imo. I spin it just under max rpm with a 3.0 pulley and make 1000 through an auto. Maybe I'm getting old but really cant see the use for more power than that on the street.

with a 8"/2.7" you'll max out at 6500 rpm, I should be able to go 7500 no issues but that's obviously overspinning it. If I stuck with my 3.1 and spun to 7500 it'd be the same thing as a 2.7/6500

I was going to set my shift points at 6800 so not too much over spun

Sounds right. I max blower at 7200 with a 3.0 pulley, but never go past 7000 anyways.

Ok I’m may have made a mistake lowering my compression then. I’m thinking mine is 10:1 I have a ysi on my 416 contemplating what pulley for blower . 8 rib iw 10% overdrive flip drive ecs bracket. I want the 2.70 or 2.75 but after reading looking like I’ll have belt issues

I had 9:1 and made 692 on a 3.8" pulley on 93, 10:1 will work just fine. You shouldn't have belt issues if you get a razor cut pulley.
