I’ve been looking at that myself. Based on what they say on their site, I think it’s a worthwhile upgrade for a reasonable price. Those guys know what they’re doing and I’m glad that they offer things like this that no one else does. For all we know, this simple device could’ve saved many a man from a broken coupler or driveshaft. I actually contacted ECS about installation and they say it can be installed without pulling anything other than the x-pipe. I’ll probably order one just fir the hell of it, before they stop making it.
I have a lot invested in my c6z/tr6060 set up along with the 3.5 DSS driveshaft so I might just buy it too. Was just looking for some real world experiences

I lost the video we had of my car launching on a trans brake from under the car that prompted us to make that part, it was pretty violent. The goal is not to put any downward pressure on the drive train, it's purpose is to keep the trans from lifting like a TQ arm on hard launches. It does transfer some vibration through the car though, like a solid motor mount type of feel so it is more for purpose-built cars. We are thinking of making a rubber lined option for street/strip cars though.

You should make the rubber lines one before spring!

Doug I have mine ready to go on in a week or so. Is there something I can/should do to help with vibration. My car will be driving on the street some for sure. Any chance I could help guinnea pig the rubber lined version?

I was simply going to try and work a rubber hose over the U portion, nothing fancy really. Just to give a buffer but still be effective.

I'll unbox mine tomorrow and see if I can understand what you mean. Few free to pm me if you have more thoughts or a picture of what you mean and I'll give it a go and post my experience on the NVH.

Maybe try cutting a strip of flat rubber, from like an inner tube or such, and use some good rubber to metal cement to glue it to the inside of the strap that goes over the torque tube? Once it’s trapped there when you snug it down, it probably won’t come out anyhow. I know it sounds a bit shade tree mechanic, but that’s what I was thinking of doing.
Got mine draped over the torque tube as we put the drive train back in. Haven't cut my belly pan and installed it yet but I did use some truck bed "cap tape" to use as an NVH reducer.

That should work!
Please report back on here how it goes.
Just do it Doug!
Serious question though: do you think it’s advisable to use this without a diff/trans brace? I’m thinking that if there is no flex in the driveline at all, that might then tend to focus the stress on separating the trans from the diff??

Tough to say, so the best answer is to purchase a trans brace too. Just do it!

LOL! Would love to man, but I have an A6, and I’ve been trying to convince you guys to build me a brace for months now. Chris said you all might start doing them again if there was sufficient interest, so I’m still hoping!
Got mine installed finally. News to everyone with a C6 Z06, you have to do some trimming to get the bracket to fit. Ended up bolting on top of the tunnel plate instead of cutting to avoid too much trimming of the new bracket plate. Something for ECS to think about is that with the plate bolting to the top of the tunnel plate and adding camper tape for NVH, there is very little thread left for the nylon nuts and washer for the tunnel strap. I was able to get threads all the way into the nut but I'd suggest more threads to account for that since it looks like the z06 crowd will be using the new instruction per my discussion with Alex. I'll take some pictures of it installed tomorrow.

Excellent info, I will take a look at a Z06 here to confirm size. We decided to go with a wider Matt that will go on the tq tube so it cant slip off in time, but your set up looks great!
