It happened Hoping its a good bit lighter now, before this I was at 2,485 after swapping from twins to the single turbo but the 15 gal cell was full.

The frame notches alone came in at 7lbs. The whole rear bar assembly was pretty heavy compared to what I made, plus you add in all the other little stuff that was removed, foam bar, brackets, cubbies, etc. I welded the bumper/quarter support where the rear bumper bolts on straight to my bar vs how its attached stock via another bracket to the tub. Also the last pic doesn't show it, but I made tabs that come up from my bar to the metal strips on the tub to hold it in place.

Oh wow, that's more than i thought you cut out. Definitely some weight there. I plan to run the Nine Lives Racing wing for some traction help so I can't cut that out without fabbing up a different mount and i don't want to do that.

I hope to be in the 24XXlb range all said and done.

I'm not scared of the saw! Just started on the front to make a similiar bar, I want to be under 2,400 with recent mods.

Not sure what nine lives wing is, but no wing needed for traction if you are going 4 link. Maybe an extended drag wing for stability if going near 200, but otherwise its pretty stable. Might need a shock and bar adjustment between street and track for optimal traction but that only takes a minute.

I'll be doing a lot of roll racing with the car so the wing should/will help with traction from a roll. May even help put some power down on some no prep stuff since I can adjust it for maximum downforce.

Turns out the weight added up and it's almost a Honda now! I was moving my fuel cell this weekend so I finally had a chance to weigh it without a full tank. She's sitting about 2,200 lbs with a 55/45 split after the front and rear tubular bars, lexan windshield, motor plate, and some other small changes.

I think this is the tipping point where you can either go cray and spend a bunch of money chasing weight, or just leave it alone.

Ya between the mild steel cage and iron third member helps keep some weight towards the rear. It could certainly be lighter with a carbon hatch and other fancy things but I'm kinda happy with it for now.

Less weight is like free horsepower and much easier on parts. But with me in it and full of fuel I'm looking at closer to 2500 which still isn't bad. A legal 7.5 would require more cage though which would add to the weight a bit.

Not sure if you got seat mounts yet but I ran across these for Kirkeys: Kirkey Pro Street race car seat mounts for C5, C6 and C7 Corvette | eBay

Cheapest mount I've seen for a vette!

55 series, what they call the "Pro Street Drag". Jegs has an aluminum seat thats virtually identical to the Kirkey as well. I use Jegs 5 point cam lock harnesses which are made by RJS Racing and SFI cert'd.

The only thing, if you use Kirkey pads, the crotch hole does not line up on the pad and the seat.

So, I have some sad news. I ended up selling the roller to my engine builder. He wants to throw his setup into this car. He would be going from a 4400lb extended cab OBS to this 24-2500lb car all said and done. Should be nasty.

I started losing interest in the project and decided to just move on while I don't have a lot of money tied into it. I'll likely be keeping the engine to put into something else. Itching for something old school.

Don't think it's much of a surprise, LOL.

When Jon text me this weekend I was shocked!! Definitely sad but I completely understand. Hopefully you find you something that keeps your interest and you can have fun with and enjoy.

As for his motor/setup or any motor that he builds going into that 2500lb car. That thing is gonna fly.
