Can someone direct me to the thread where the different parts of the Corvette were listed with the corresponding weight so that I can make selections of what to remove for road racing?

There is an old thread over under the General section then to Auto-X and road racing.
change the seats reduces in the car wight of 25 lbs or so for each seat.
then removing the stero speaks. magents in speakers are heavy.
remove all sound insolation and carpeting.
change body pannels to all carbon fiber from corvetteracebodies.com
Light weight tires and wheels can save 10-12 lbs per wheel. Stock wheels and tires are heavy.
remove a/c and a/c condenser.
remove window glass and replace with light weight lexan windows.
The biggest weight reduction is the driver. if your over weight, well what do you expect?? if not great.
Yes a lot of unsprung weight can be removed with wheels. Carbon fiber wheels are cool, but not legal in almost all racing tech regs.
the Champion wheels look great. a freind of mine here in town just purchased a set and loves them. I have not seen them yet but am looking forward to.
Tires also play a big part in unsprung weight as well. Street DOT tires are heavy compared to DOT 'R" racing tires vs Racing slicks. Even among the DOT "R" tires the weight difference is big. Hoosiers vs Kuhmoss the Hoosiers are several pounds lighter per tire then the Kuhmos.
My street or rain wheels CCW Classic Street with Mich P/S are 51 lbs each. My track wheels CCW Classic track with GY slicks are 36 pounds. That is a big difference.

Aggie, let's hope he doesn't share too much information. AutoVelocity is not a supporting vendor, and his last thread he tried sharing information on was sent to the trash bin. If you're really interested, go to the Ferrari forums. AutoVelocity is a supporting vendor there, and has spread plenty of info.
