I am very familiar with gps systems I have it in the wifes Lexus and I use a garmin and a road mate portable all the time. My story is sad as I picked up my C6 in Alabama and the dealer was great but no one knew anything about my NAV problem. In fact I stopped at 4 dealers over the 700 mile trip and NOPE not a one new ANYTHING!! about the Nav system they sell.
The problem is when I program a destination all goes well until I get to the ROUTE PREFERENCE page. I select allow major highways or any of the others but the CALCULATE icon never illuminates the program just freezes there. Any help would be appreciated I just spent four hours at Parra Chev in Dallas and I know a lot more than anyone there about the nav system and they are a high volume vette dealer??
I even called the museum they were nice as always but no tech help?? My car has 700miles on it and I can't use the nav system YUK. Love the C6 it's my 10th vette and the best yet
I think your unit is probably OK, the instruction manual is extremely misleading and the "calculate" button on Route Preference menu isn't lit because you haven't actually entered a destination yet.
When you get to the point where you see the Route Preferences and Calculate key, forget about them for now and press the "Return" arrow in the upper right corner. If the next screen you see has a box at the bottom/center with a red "target" and a yellow "Diamond", press the red target. You should see 3 new boxes at the bottom of the screen, press the one that says "Guide". If your unit is working correctly and you've picked a destination that's not too close to your present position, the female voice should start talking.
Again, the manual on this thing is terrible, they do a poor job of walking you through a route set-up. Several of the screens don't match what the book says.
LOWLEAD You da man that was my problem by the way there is another work around procedure for deleting destinations and waypoints in the General site Many THX Bill
