Default Oil Temp 250

I have an 86 vette and live in Yuma, AZ- I am thinking of taking a trip up the coast next weekend-

For some reason, (keep in mind it is 116+ outside temp here on any given day) the oil temp is running at 250. It doesn't get a chance to get out on the hwy often-

I have just replaced the radiator and am using Mobile 1 synthetic oil--

Any suggestions of what else to do?

I don't want to take a chance being stranded somewhere--

One suggestion... trade it in for a C6.

Take a high pressure air hose and blow the dirt, sand, grass and crap out of the radiator. You would be suprised and how much crud gets up there and what cleaning will do to lower temps.

Is the engine temp running normal? If so, I wouldn't worry about it. Mobil 1 can handle 250, if thats the highest it is going.

If the engine temp is running hot, look into a fan or thermostat problem.

Default You are in the wrong neighborhood. Try posting this in the C-4 section.
