It might help if you try adjusting your steering wheel vertically. How do you get a 10 and 2 position? It's 9 and 3. Go to your car and confirm the 9 and 3. Do it now, I'll wait.

Two more positions for your hands: 1)9 and 5; 2)7 and 3. That's 4 viable positions with the doughboy.
Nope, definitely 10 and 2. If you grab the rim down at the other positions you mention, your fingers are too close to the spokes. You should have at least a hand's breadth clearance between where you grip the wheel and the nearest spoke.

WOW. I have not kept up with this post since I started it last week. I'm all for buying the wheel for $102. I'll see if the airbag fits. If it doesn't, I'll buy the airbag too.

Not so fast now ...the 2006 airbag (if needed) will likely be a minimum of $400.00 (likely more) and then there is still the possibility that the sensors/electronics are slightly different between 2005s and 2006s though I highly doubt that last part will be an issue.

I hear ya. I'll be doing some more research. But even at $500 or more, I can't think of a mod that I would use more than the steering wheel.

Are all 2006 steering wheels the same, or is it different on the z06?

I've got a hunch the airbag will work, and I'd bet money the sensors and electronics are compatible if it doesn't.

More to come.

I'd love to try one (actually, I'd love to SEE an 06 & try one), but lottsa luck actually GETTING ONE.

My car has been out of the body shop for over a month, and I'm STILL WAITING on backordered interior trim pieces for the center console, and the plastiod cowling piece that goes under the wipers/over the windshield. If it's taking THAT LONG to get what should be "common stock parts", how long do you think it's gonna take to get a STEERING WHEEL and AIRBAG, eh?

You all should know that the $102 is just for the steering wheel (outside part). It does not include the center piece with emblem. That comes as a module with the airbag. I'am waithing for a price on that soon as the GM parts books get updated. I was told it would be some where in the range of $400.00.

Yes I think all 2006 C6 (LS2 & LS7) steering wheels are the same (well except for LS2 automatics with paddles of course).

It doesn't look like it will, might be two totally different set ups underneath.
