I can promise you that you aren't getting the air bag with it for $102.

Huh? Seems to me both wheels give you one place to rest your hands, the rim, gripping at 10 and 2.

I too would prefer a smaller wheel. Hopefully the airbag isn't too pricey

Default I'm sure there would be some warranty safety issues if you change this

I would also like to change the 05 steering wheel which is too large. Maybe to a 2006 steering wheel. Won't do anything aftermarket so how much will this all cost? Will a dealership or shop do this kind of work regarding liability issues?

What if I have a slight front end bumper "accident" and the bag employs. I will have to take it to chevy for replacement/resetting- maybe then replace it with 06 wheel/bag.... ..???????

Group purchase on this one!!! I can't wait to get rid of my malibu steering wheel. Every cheezy shortcut GM took on this car is about out of my z-51, now! This is one a few last minute details that I need to dump! Sounds like we could be close!!!

So what are we waiting for? Whoever has it stock just needs to see if the air bag from our 05's will fit. How hard can it be to check on this?

Hello?

Lets get the ball rolling.

I'm sure you're kidding of course but as you probably know it takes roughly a 28+mph impact to set off the baggies. You hit something at that speed with your C6 and the problems/resulting damage will leave you with concerns/issues far greater than what getting a free 2006 steering wheel and air bag would solve LOL.

The first position on the '05 is 10 and 2 (actually it's 9 and 3). The second position is 5 and 7.

5 and 7 is dangerous. Didn't they teach you that in driver's training?

It's only dangerous if you're a girlie-man.

Perhaps you are so small that your forearm doesn't slam into your thigh if you need to make a quick turn while using the 7 and 5 hold. But if you're normal size, it will, and you will lose control of the car. With a 10 and 2 hold, your arms have plenty of room to move when making a turn.

OK two pages. Can we buy the wheel? Will the airbag fit?

Anyone know?

I am of normal anatomical volume.

It might help if you try adjusting your steering wheel vertically. How do you get a 10 and 2 position? It's 9 and 3. Go to your car and confirm the 9 and 3. Do it now, I'll wait.

Two more positions for your hands: 1)9 and 5; 2)7 and 3. That's 4 viable positions with the doughboy.

The real reason that it is dangerous to hold the steering wheel anywhere below 3 and 9, has to do with natural reflexes. For example,
if you are suddenly approached from your right by an incoming hazard, your first, natural reaction is to reflexively move away from the right. If you're holding the wheel below the hoizontal, that reflex will move you toward the danger.
