callaway makes shorty's for our c6.
you can use them with Random Tech. hi-flo cats. and then you can use your corsa xpipes.
I'd buy the shorty's if the gains were better, just to keep it legal. I'm not so concerned with peak gains but overall gains and I haven't found much out there for the shorty's. Those headers are expensive and if there isn't much gain, it's a lot of money for a little extra hp/tq.

I suppose the whole point of this however, is to keep it legal (In Cali.). Therefore, Shorty headers, which by design will not give the same power as longtubes, are the answer. Cost falls in line with what it takes to design, produce, and market a product - That is the reality of it.
...It sounds to me like folks expect a shorty header to be 1/2 the cost of a longtube if it makes 1/2 the power - just generalizing here What am I missing here???

Well, I could also keep my stock headers and stay legal if the aftemarket shorty headers aren't going to give hardly any gains above stock. I guess the question would be if shorty headers gain on average 10rwhp/10rwtq throught the rpm range, is that worth $1350? I suppose that's up to the individual and his/her pocket book and if somebody wants to remain legal.
I posted a poll, in the interests of getting a read on what people's experiences have actually been in CA. Yes, I realize no C6 has been smogged yet, but I'm sure people have or have had other cars with headers that had to be smogged...
Ok, here's the deal. It is against federal law to remove, replace (with other than the exact OEM equivalent, and then only if you have proof the originals have failed), or relocate the cats. It is the last that gets you with headers, in particular, long tube headers. Even if you retain the OEM cats, they have to be relocated further from the engine. That can affect their cold light off characteristics, and the feds don't want that to happen. California follows federal law in this regard, so even if you pass the sniffer, which is done with the car already warmed up, you'd still be in violation if they spot the relocated cats during the visual inspection.
Well, in the 30+ years I've been getting my performance cars smogged, I've never had them look under the car to see where the cats were. (not that they would even know where they're supposed to be)
