A little over a year ago the C6 Forum was all about waiting to get deliveries and how much dealers were charging over MSRP. This Sunday the local paper advertised $9-10 off on new loaded '05's.

Is that your vette in the avatar?....long time enthusiast

I laugh at the dealer I got mine at. They wouldnt sell the first few for less than 10k over sticker and said it would be high for a looooong time. The next month they were 500 over and the next month some bigger dealers were 500 under.

I got mine for 1000 off and 2800 from the gm card. I would have waited longer had I not heard the Z51's were going on a limited production vacation.

My next one will be years from now whne the Z06 gets discontinued for the new C7 and I will get one of them for 10k off knowing all the bugs are worked out of this car and someone will figure out how to get the dayum roof off the thing...Caravagio you listening?

By the way I have that vette up in NY and I bought it from ramp in Suffolk county. This same dealer not 2 weeks afer I bought the car wanted to chanrge me 1800 plus my stock wheels as a trade in.for the ace wheels I got from a forum vendor for 900 outright.

Then they wanted to charge me 365 for the mounting and balancing of the new tires! I bought 2 cars from them in a 6 month period. Way to make a guy come back...I bought my extended warranty from a different dealer........

Dealers have accrued at least 4 months of ad valorem taxes on an '05 at this point. They better discount the hell outta them.

You never pay too much, you just buy too soon!! I probably could have got a Vette for less than what I paid, but I got exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it.

It's a property tax that dealers, depending on the state, have to pay based on their inventory. The longer a car sits on the lot, the more tax they accrue. It's not a huge amount per car, but it is enough to be an incentive to move inventory rather than letting it rot on a lot forever.

This time last year every dealer in Albuquerque had the C6 10K above sticker and said it would be that way for another year, so i just laughed and said yeah good luck selling them, a month and a half later i just happened to stop at the dealer for a part for my truck and the same sales man stops me and says they will do MSRP on all Vettes but i told him no thanks im going to wait a year or two to get one.
