C6 vs. Cobra vs lightning vs Sti
Just curious as to how our stock c6(Z51 Auto & Manual) compare with these other stock vehicles in 1/4 mile. I was over at the Subaru Sti forum, and its amazing how many Sti's owners are claiming to have bested c6 vettes and c5 Z06. The Sti owners claiming this only have a Cobb stage2 upgrade which gives them about 340-350 hp(crank) Some are claiming only to "fear" 03-04 Cobras. Some have also stated that their Sti's can hold off c6 vettes all the way up to 120 mph. Is this possible? Seems that they dont respect the C6 for its performance, only the lightnings and Cobra's. I thought stock for stock that the c6 vette is the better performer. Any thoughts? I'll be pissed if a 30,000 subaru with only 1k in mods can beat my 50k c6.

There is no way any stock Cobra including the new 475 horse will touch a vette, way to heavy. As far as Subaru, yup, all wheel drive means major traction and possible trouble for inexperienced C6 driver. But as far as a pickup such as Lightening, forget it. It's a truck!

That's complete bull****. I've seen many stock cobra's go 12.9, or 12.7 and the majority of the people on this forum go about that or slower.
As for the lightning, bone stock my lightning went 13.4. I've seen times here posted that or less. News to you corvette guys, the lightning in the 1/8th will probably beat the majority of stock c6's, especially you guys who can't drive a stick. On the street, how many people run out the full 1/4?? I'd say the lightning stock, IF you can find a stock lightning, I don't know of any that exist, would be a great match up from 0-80.
All in all, unless you are running up top, MOST of those cars have a good chance of beating a stock vette.

Lost mind? My daughter had a 99 Cougar V6 supercharged and spanked Cobras on 1/8 mile....and forget about that truck!

My lightning on street tire at 5100lbs ran 12.3 all day.
Easy 11 second truck on tire. Find me a lightning that ISN'T stock, they dont' exist I don't think.
Bring that C6 up from WV to MD and I will line you up with a lightning.

My buddy's 05 GT went 11.8 with gears, intake/exhaust and drag radials. It now has a procharger and full interior and is running 9.53
Lightnings + pulley = 12 second truck.
Like I said, I love my C6, but I don't think it's unbeatable by any stretch of the imagination.

Yes my sti would have smoked my sti.. from a stop
from a roll, the c6 would have came by it for sure.

sti's are great from stops due to tight gearing and as long as there is a good driver behind that wheel, its catchup time the whole time.
but a c6, defintly has the advantage from aroll, long gears, constant torque.
A cobra on teh other hand with the basics will trap 120mph. That equals bye bye c6 from a roll and even from a stop with a good driver.
