That ear to ear grin that you can't wipe off your face the first time you hit the 'start' button and gets larger when you hit the throttle............PRICELESS!
I'm heading to LG motorsports in 2 days for a G5X3 cam install as well as under drive pulley and F.A.S.T intake followed by a dyno tune. I already have there Long Tube Pro headers, high flow cats, GHL cat back, Halltech intake and 160 degree thermostat with a mail order tune by Them. Bobby at LG told me to expect at least 430 to the tires. I'll post my dyno sheet once I make it back to Georgia.
Still waiting on that weekend offer to slap my headers on
Opening a shop is something I would love to do. I would have to kick myself in the *** for paying for law school to open a shop, but hey if I get sued I could defend myself!
I think you are right to Dave about shops knowing their vehicles. If you are the first C6 shop they've seen ....they are going to tinker w/ her for at least 3-4 hours. then actually start the work. Like foreplay with a hooker....just doesnt make sense. Get in, get out!
Well anyone reccomend someone to buy these headers from? I want a full set of LG longtubes. (all the parts please, I hate buying stuff that says NOT INCLUDED 5,000,000 connector)
If ya need a place to hang out for a while let me know, I live about 5 miles from LG Motorsports, Anthongy and Bobby added headers and a tune 2 my C6 about 3 weeks ago, just shoot me an email.........Manny
Not a bad idea, call Dynatech. I did speak again with my tuner and he is stumped. He's pretty well know in this area, Mike Norris. He's offered to redo it, but does not see much change happening.
BTW, love the way your C6 sounds, too bad the clip doesn't have you pushing the RPM's up and up and up. Would love to hear it wide open. What exhaust system are you running..
Jeff
That was stock exhaust; I have borla stinger on it now - it's just nasty. I don't even have to pull off the line at the stoplight; I win just setting there. The borla makes it sound

That is about $3,430 in parts.

Figure on 8-10 hours in labor for a shop that knows what they are doing. Or do it yourself, like I do, I'm cheap
Do not take it to a shop that is not familiar with Corvette's, it will take them about 6 hours longer..I think you should consider doing it yourself, it really is fairly simple, if you never did it before figure on about 16-20 hours. The next time you do it, figure on 10.

Thanks, I sent your list to my mod guy for his opinion and his cost. If he comes back with what either you or Fredo recommended and is close in cost, the car goes in for this mod!!!
Thanks agains for taking the time to give me great info.
Oh ok ... .well you could always take the money you were going to spend on heads and go with gears ...but we arent going to start that battle all over again....

I say keep the heads, that mid range torque is a lot of fun on the street, the cam givese you HP but most of it is up top. Heads are where its at! Plus without the heads you will blow $600 on a good set of springs, then add additional install cost (to install the springs), which will both be wasted if you do ever decide on heads. So figure on an $800 loss if you do heads later on.
A cam swap should be about $600-$700, head swap $700-$800, maybe $1,100-$1,200 for both at the same time. (Based on installations in the east coast)
