I thought they changed the vert rule last year to allow a little faster time with out a bar. Something to do with stock cars running faster and the rule would disallow bone stock cars from running. I need go check the site. Atco is pretty lenient though all in all. They even let me run with a full faced motorcycle helmet sometimes.
There is no exception in the 2006 rulebooks for "stock" anything.
With respect to helmets, motorcycle helmets are fine except in some classes which require a fireproof lining. What the helmets do require is some level of Snell rating. The date of the rating again depends on the class with the lowest year currently 95.
