I have a C6 Z51 with the following suspension mods:
C6Z06 front and rear spring
C6Z06 shocks
lowered about 1"
20mm wheel spacers all around
Michelin PS2 tires
Alignment front -1.5deg camber, +0°10' toe, 8° caster
rear -1deg camber, -0°05' toe
My car has a about 12.000 miles and 525hp (flywheel). While the handling of the car was much improved by the mods, I am still not satisfied. Especially on acceleration, the car feels not as stable as I would like. I think the soft suspension bushings are the problem. Does anybody know if:
-the C6Z06 has harder bushings and are they available?
-maybe the T1 suspension bushings are available?
-do the C5 PU VBB bushings fit on the C6?

Bernd,
How is the -1.5 deg camber on your tires? My dealer service dept. said it will wear out the inside tread in no time.

The front tire wears uneven. On the rear it is much better. I got 5.000 miles from the last set of Michelin PS2. Front and rears were gone at the same time. But I think it is well worth it. Why buy such a car and save on the tires?

Energy Suspension makes a high durometer urethane bushing set. Check with JEG'S or Summit.

You moved your wheels out 3/4 of an inch AND lowered it an inch??? What wheel studs did you use? I tried running 5 mm spacers and the stock studs were too short. I couldnt get the lug nuts on. It looked about the limit of what offset fit in the wheel well.

It would be rubbing sir.
I used spacers that are bolted to the hub with the stock studs. There are stude pressed in the spacer and you attach the wheel to the spacer. Have a look at: www.spurverbreiterung.de, click on "Kataloge" on the top. It is called "System 3" there.
On the front 20mm is no problem. Nothing rubbing. On the rear I took out a little bit of the inner and outer fender. Still rubbing a little bit. I am driving for 12.000 miles with these now. If I would do it again, I would use longer wheel studs and 1/2" spacers.

I think that you are on the right track adding the entire Z06 suspension package to you car. At this time it is probably the easiest way to improve your cars handling. If you can not get the Z06 parts. Replacing the stock rubber bushings to reduce deflection would be the first step in reducing erratic handling but there is no easy way out.
In my opinion if you are going to use the car as daily transportation and opt for aftermarket bushings, I would suggest a nylon bushing as they are less prone to bind to the steel sleeves.
Steel and urethane bushings do not deflect, they will squeak & groan on city streets. Without lubrication the suspension does not move smoothly. It works great at the strip and my car really hits the tires hard but it really rots driving around town. The ride is more harsh, you feel & hear every bump (done to my Mustang the Vette is stock for now). Good luck
