Sorry, I forgot you said that you didnt have it yet. I will measure it. Gimme a day or two.
Hey Spin while you are down there. Try to get a good estimate on what a good width offset for a modded 19" rear would be to accept the 325 runflat. I know there are many interested in that info also.

Email from James at Weldcraft. Doesn't address everything...quote is for 18" wheel, but you get the picture.
"Hello Ron,
What we do is ...part the wheel on the inside and add a band of the size you want and then we v-groove and hand tig the wheels back together.
So if you want say a 2 inch addition, your backspace will change by the same amount.
The price to widen those up to 2&1/2 inches would be $200.00 per wheel for an 18 inch wheel.
The process usually takes about one week.
James"
I did not here back from him yet. I sent him some fairly specific questions on the offset. I got some wheels though, ready to give this a try.
Cool. Please post when he gets back. Looks like he just generally told me the offset all goes to the inside...no choice in the matter, which would require a tub/shock move, and may even be limited as to width based on all inside offset addition.

Ok Big Ron, I am not too savey on this wheel thing and I think my subject matter expert went to bed on me.
So If I widen the stock OEM wheel 2 inches, to 18x10.5 will that make my new offset + 50mm. So the offset would be 106 mm is that right?
I suppose spacers would just send the wheel out too much also. Dunno if I could make those tubs myself, someone do a writeup if they do the tubbing
It might work with spacers. Did I do the math correct above. I need to wait and see what Spin measures and then talk with him about it. I don't want to tub the car.

Yep, which puts that puppy way inside the car! I have no idea what the max we can get away with would be. I think Spin is doing some measuring this weekend. I'm traveling, so maybe he'll post up tomorrow!

How big can a spacer safely be? I have never used a spacer on a vette.

Me either...I'm uncomfortable with them, but they work. I would think a 1/4" is safe...really don't know.
Then you get back to sticking out from the fender again with a wheel over 10". Perfect combo may be fronts widened 2" with a 1/4" spacer...might just bring the wheel out enough to clear the suspension and keep it under the lip.
A conversation with the CCW guys would probably give us everything we need...max offset, etc. I hear their 11" wheel (don't know offset) with a 325 on the rear has about 1/4" clearance stock.

I have asked jschindler to measure his CCW's, so maybe he will get back to me on that also. I have some wheels coming so I just need to get a good consensus from the experts here and give it a shot.
What do you guys think about a BFG/DR in a 315?
If the rim was made wider to a 18 x 11 you could slap a 315 on it and this would give us the widest DR we could fit in to the fender walls.
Traction would not be a problem then, unless you get in to the high horsepower range . I my 99 FRC they where able to handle the 640rwhp and 735rwtrq it was making and this was on a under sized rim 10.5 for this 315. I would do a set of 18 x 11 for track use and another set of 19 x 11.5 for the 325 run flats if we can get them to work.

Might work, problem is going from an 8.5 inch to 11 inch. And all of that has to be added towards the inside of the rim. So that makes the offset around 120mm.
I think that would require spacers at this point. But I really am just crunching numbers here because I don't have my car yet to check.
Lets see what Spin comes up with. I have some painted OEM's on the way being shipped tomorrow. I don't mind being the guinea pig on this one as long as I get some help from the smart guys.
The fellow from weldcraft has not got back with me yet. Maybe my email was confusing. It was sort of difficult to explain what I wanted to do.
