Mr 35, what dealer did you go to? What is the deal with the clutch recall? I have never heard of this, is your C6 a 2006? Also, did they turn off the rear O2 sensors to avoid the error codes? Thanks!
Being I am incriminating myself I shouldn't say the dealer. I shouldn't need to turn off the rear o2's being I ordered my Kooks 1 7/8 headers with the Cats. As for the recall you can read about it here. Yes he car is a 2006 C6 vette.

You could still end up needing to turn off the rear 02s or going to 02 sims to avoid codes. High flow cats don't heat the same way that your stock cats do.
After much consideration and reading member comments I have decided not to file the insurance claim.$300 dollars is not a lot of money and its not going to hurt my pocketbook. I was told by my agent to call the main office tomm, but I will not. Its just not worth it. Sorry I said something, but glad I have guys like you keep it in perspective for me.

Don't let that bull**** artist influence you, nothing like having a bunch of commy bastads around here.
I'd go out and buy some "homemade" chocolate chip cookies and a six pack of beer for your mechanic. Despite your problems, he is doing you a big favor putting the headers on. A lot of dealers would not put on an aftermarket component that could effect emissions. You owe him big time!

I second that and want to know who your dealer is so I can have him install mine too! Trust me, I am not some commy bastad (like that as$ who claimed to be the insurace fraud police) and won't rat on someone.
I guess everyone has to make a living, hopefully that commy bastad has reconsidered before he is banned from the forum.

Tampering with those cats could result in a $10,000 fine for them if the feds got a hard on to go after them.

Dude, he lives in Louisiana, if you haven't been here recently, you probably should know that we all drive with the recirculation switch on all the time to keep the car in front of us from filling the cab with exhaust smoke. This isn't some activist state like Cali and trust me the feds have bigger fish to fry here, just ask FEMA.
If it makes you feel better I did exactly the same thing to my condenser.Had my C6 5 days and happen on last 1 inch of cutting. It also setme back a 100.00 dollars more

They do if you Jet Hot coat the headers and cats. (at least for me)
I wouldn't be pissed. At least they caught their mistake before you took it home and possibly damaged it. **** happens, they made a mistake and are correcting it.
I called my insurance company today and told them about the "rock" that hit my condinser and used my 0 deductable comp coverage to get my money back for the condensor.
Man, you sure do have a nice adjuster! Either that or he/she is a complete moron. Good one for you.

My experience with the CEL from headers w/cats and CAI has been that the ECM learns and adjusts after X number of key turns or X number of hours.
I got CEL's after the CAI install 2 weeks after my headers w/cats install in August, '05. After 6 battery disconnects and 2 ECM fuse pulls thru September, no CEL's until a month later. By then I had a code read/reset tool and reset the code. The headers and CAI have been on since since August and I've only had to read and reset once in January.
