Any word when these are shipping? Getting ants in my pants!

Thanks for everyone's patience and understanding with the updated C6 units. We are in the final steps in getting the units complete and ready to ship. The ETA for shipping is early next week. We will be working all weekend to get everything complete and CORRECT!!! We have a number of backorders for complete units and replacement boxes and will ship in the order received but anticipate shipping all within 2 or 3 days of the initial shipment. Again thanks to all for your input on our products and your patience while we strive to give you the quality products your want and need for your vehicle!!! Vararam Industries

I'd like to get the Vararam, but am hesitant about removing the fan shroud to install it. Can install be done without removing it? I understand it to be really only cutting a rectangular hole in the shroud to allow air to flow to the V's filter. Is there access to do this without removing the shroud? And how thick is the shroud material? Can a razor blade cutter (utility knife) do it, or are we talking jigsaw?

Thanks for the help!

So now the how much power will you get question- standing on a dyno without using any special programming you should expect 10-15hp from any cold air kit,but once moving the VR will put all the lost MAP pressure back into the plenum yielding another 17hp by 60mph 19-20by 90-100mph and the way we rate our kits is through a ? mile Your total power through a ? mile is about another 22hp plus the dyno hp of 10-15hp,so, on the low side, 32 Rear wheel hp, high side 37 Rear wheel hp. That?s 39- 42hp at the fly wheel through a ? mile. This power shows up in the testing performance of the unit where we see gains of the fallowing,.
3.5 -4 tenths off the ? mile
+3.5-4mph+ added to the ? mile trap speeds
+7-10MPH to the cars top speed
That is serious performance considering that is right out of the box, we will continue development for further performance, but we have maximized the factory programming so more may be possible with custom tuning and we are working with tuners and racing teams now on such programs, so look for these in the future with a VR program or upgrading to a VR programmer if you already own one such a programmer.
What is "lost MAP pressure"?

I've always wondered about the so-called ram effect from any intake. The last time I saw this calculated, 60mph air velocity at sea level corresponded to .07 PSI. Are you arguing that .07 PSI is worth 17hp? I admit to being a skeptic.

The shroud can be cut in the car but exercise extreme caution. You can use a sharp razor knife but be aware that one slip can cut a finger or, as others have found out , maybe the air conditioning condensor!!!!!
We will soon have simplified instuctions for removing the shroud for replacement on the C6. We offer a pre cut shroud for an extra $50 with the unit.

Hoping for good news on shipping this week!!! I ordered four weeks ago through Corvettes of Houston and had planned to make the Vararam install my Father & Son (3.5 year old) Fathers Day Mod yesterday, but no dice.

We had to paint the calipers and lower the car instead. What lame appearance only mods! We need to do some performance mods this coming weekend, hoping it will be a Vararam! But you guys have got me nervous about cutting the shroud... I guess since I had the stones to install Z06 rear brake ducts in my C5 convertible this shouldn't be too bad, but I'm thinking maybe I should have sprung for the pre-cut shroud...

I am waiting patiently.

I ordered the pre-cut shroud and the TB spacer along with my Vararam.

Much easier to go back to stock if I ever want to trade the car in.

I had a hard time deciding between the Vararam and the TORNADO I say on an infomercial

Thanks VARARAM for answering all my questions when I called.

Believe it or not:

My decision was actually between the Vararam and a Procharger, I decided low 12s will be fine for me.

Next up, maybe a little tuning for my automatic tranny.

Howard

so any word from Vararam on whether or not they have shipped their units out. It is not well within the timeframe they gave us last week. It has been about 4 weeks since I placed my order with Rick Anthony Motorsports for my Vararam intake, TBS, and precut shroud. Darn it feels longer. This week my LG LT's go on.

What gets shipped first? The boxes to replace the bads ones that we got stuck with (and use at our own risk) or completely new orders?? Seems like the replacement people should get theirs first as to avoid any more dirt getting thru. Just a thought.

I've got a Mike Norris tune scheduled for next Friday, hope mine makes it!! I ordered for Corvettes of Houston a month ago.

Appreciate your Customer Service. Problems can happen, it's how a company handles them that separates a good company from bad.
