How foolish is it to put drill slots on -just the front?
Well, not withstanding many, many threads on drilled rotors, slotted rotors, drilled and slotted rotors, or rotors with holes cast in them, the common wisdom is that they are mostly for cosmetics.
So, your question isn't foolish at all. If you like the look they would give you, then go for it. Personally, I like a more balanced look and put them on all four wheels on my car.
On a base or F55 suspension car (which I guess you have if you're thinking of doing this), I actually think the rear is what needs a cosmetic upgrade. The OE rotor is small and with the rear 19" wheel there is a lot of empty area behind the wheel. I put the larger (2 inch greater diameter) rotors on my car to fill in that area.
I was thinking that with a few bolt ons it may be a good idea to get a little more stoppin' support.
If that's what you're after, keep your rotors and upgrade your pads. Any improvement from just upgrading your rotors would not be noticeable, and you'd feel like you wasted your money. For more stopping power, pads are where it's at.

NO drilled ( or cast in holes ) rotors for any track. Solid side for performance and best braking.
Drill or cast in holes and slots are for BLING BLING ONLY
We took our C6 to Sebring earlier this year, and prior to going I installed some Carbotech pads and what a difference! I was told drilled rotors will warp easier. Kevin
People need to realize one thing about brakes... Slotted/ cross drilled does not make you stop shorter , it keeps the brakes cooler so you can stop more consistantly. So unless you plan on roadracing/ autocrossing, you dont really even need them, unless you like the look...

Bob, I agree with you about those rear rotors. What did you put on, and what caliper brackets did you use? Did you use the stock calipers? Thanx in advance.

The only foolish thing is to let someone talk you into doing something that you don't want to do. It's your car, make it like you want it - we will mostly say
