I love Drone!!!
This is pretty entertaining.
ps: I'm guessing he's probably a retired doctor, but thats just a guess. What's really amazing is this clown never heard the exhaust he's talking about. He's going on one persons post.

I highly doubt DSOM would lie about being a doctor. I don't always agree with him (usually but not always), but I do know from correspondence that he is an intelligent and honest guy. I don't know him off line, but if he says he is a doctor I would put some money on it.
Get it back on topic fellows. This type of stuff is useless.
Drone is subjective, it is just that simple. My Corsa sport drones and I can tell you most people can not hear it. I do, it bothers me a little but not too much. I can also hear drone in the stock exhaust. I have very good hearing, I use to test perfect year after year on my flight physicals in the Air Force (22 years). At one base the doctor thought I had a way to cheat. LOL
Anyway if it's loud it drones. I think this general rule is a good one to go by.

The only reason I brought up post activity is because he said to go back and check his posts. Doesn't really matter at this point.
Getting back to the original topic. Sound is a personal preference. To me, in order to make a subjective opinion or statement, one should hear the exhaust in question before passing judgement and not just go by "what someone else" said.
I like my exhaust sound and it's about to get even better when I install my new LG headers this weekend.
Last night at the track a little kid came up to me and said. "Hey your car just sounds like a regular car until you go down the track, then it sounds like a race car".
That is probably the best description on corsa sports and headers I have heard yet.
But like I said, to a sensitive ear even the corsa has some drone. Right around 1600 rpms. And when it hits my teeth hurt, no kidding. But I have asked passengers, "can you hear that?", and they always say "no".

If the "health issues" which could have caused this gentleman's reported symptoms, which, I might add, occured immediately following the running of that loud exhaust, are so numerous, then perhaps you would be kind enough to list, say a couple of dozen of those numerous "health issues."
I have no reason to lie to you or anyone else about what I do.

Did you notice his statement of "Guess 22 years in the USAF has taken a toll on my hearing. But that's life and we move on."
Whatever hearing deficit he "may" have had, "may have started with", professionally diagnosed or not, certainly seems to have been exacerbated, at least by his report, during the time of and immediately following the time that he was running that loud exhaust.
He noticed that his hearing was worse after running it. He noticed that he had developed pain after running it, and he noticed that he had developed tinnitus after running it.
What is it that you do for a living? I certainly hope and pray that its not anything which involves any significant amount of deductive reasoning or responsibility. Somehow from your posts, I feel that I (and the rest of the public for that matter) can rest easy.
He says that he developed pain, hearing loss, and ringing after running that exhaust. Or didn't you see that?
Attention: "If your ears ring, hurt, or if you develop temporary hearing loss after listening to drone, then its because there was something wrong with your ears to begin with."
Not just Bullets. Any sufficiently noxious sound for a prolonged period of time. This much we do know. That guy, and others have described symptoms of hearing loss, pain, headache, and tinnitus either among themselves or their passengers following running loud exhausts, including Bullets.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Here is my contribution to drone. After reading many posts on this forum, I purchased the complete Magnaflow system. At first I was a little disappointed in how quiet the system was. After a few hundred miles it seemed to wake up some. At a certain rpm there was a little drone but not objectionable. This exhaust definitely made the car much more fun to drive. I should mention also that most of my driving around home is done on country two lane roads and in small towns. Not much chance to use 6th gear for any length of time.
By mid July I was thinking about an up coming road trip from PA to TX for the NCRS Convention. Of the few times I was on a thruway I noticed that between 70 - 75 mph there was a very noticeable drone that there was nothing I could do about. Knowing I would be spending quite a few days driving 500 plus miles, I decided to go back to the stock exhaust for the trip. During the trip I was often very happy I did.
Now being back in the neighborhood I'm ready to make the switch again.
So my point is that how and where you drive your car has a lot to do with what type of drone level you can live with. If you are just out for short top down rides, one system may be fine for you. On the other hand if you spend long hours behind the wheel you may not be as tolerating. (speaking for myself)
Now that I know exactly how to go about doing the exhaust system switch myself, I may try bullets next, since I do not have any long trips planned for a while.

Anything else you want to say???

Reports of earaches, headaches, nausea, tinnitus, hearing loss, thats enough to steer me clear of them.
