I insulated all around the underside of the radiator shroud. The DeWitt radiator is a little shorter and let me put more in. I used "Great Stuff" to also glue on Thermo-tec muffler shielding. I also epoxied the Thermo-tec on the bottom side of the intake housing, several layers.

I did datalogging, and the WORST it ever is now is 10 degrees above ambient.

little confused. are you saying it (the iat) got worse or the highest reading you've gotten after doing this was 10 degrees above ambient. did i read somewhere that the iat normally averages 20 degrees above ambient.

What about at an extended idle after fully warmed up? Tell us a little more about the driving conditions during your logging.

Get a magnacharger. The IAT sensor is relocated to an intake port on the manifold. Has to be done this way to allow the computer to compensate for heat soak/etc. in the blower...

You mentioned Dewitt radiator........ Do you have a larger radiator?

OK, let's see, there are a few questions. The IAT is only 10 degrees higher than ambient at worst. That's all, it was higher before. I don't know about normal, who wants normal.

Let's see, extended idle. Well, that is more dependent on when the fans turn on, rather than the insulation, so that was not a factor with me. I would work on that instead. However, just look at it, feel it, and see where your heat is, where it goes. It will change your priorities.

Good point about the MagnaCharger. Don't know anything about those,

Yes, the DeWitt is about twice the capacity, actually double the depth. Great radiator. What quality.

Sorry, haven't visited here in a while.....
