I just installed LG long tubes on my car and don't have a ramp or lift. I DID NOT lift the entire car up off of the ground. I had the front of the car supported by 2 jack stands and the jack itself was there for added safety. The rear of the car was on the ground and was blocked. I didn't find it necessary to lift the back of the car to do the things I needed to do and I've always felt that the more I can keep on the ground, the safer I will be. Now mind you, if you are a real big guy, you might need to lift the back also. I'm 6' 175lb. and didn't have any problems fitting under there to fit the exhaust or drill the hole in the tunnel plate.

Per LG's instructions (makes sense to me too) you need to drill a hole in the aluminum tunnel plate so that you can run the rear O2 wires above the plate so that they won' touch the X pipe etc.

I've fried my O2 connectors too many times now. While I have the motor apart I am going to rewire them and run it under the plate. Those cats get hot, and even though I bought wire looms and keep everything as far away as possible, the connectors still like to melt.

Do you mean on top of the plate? (plate is between cats and wires)

Just take your time
hey burtonbl, I read on another thread that you decided on kooks headers. I trust your judgement so I just got my set today with x pipe and hi flow cats. I plan to do the install myself. Two questions. Did you need to get your pcm tuned/adjusted to clear check engine light after install? Also, did you drill holes to route wires above plate or just route wires with supplied clips in tunnel?

Thanks
p.s. your car looks great with new leather and those z06 calipers!
