good question... Some of the options carry no weight penalty such as memory seats. The other options that provide comfort are worth the extra weight IMHO... especially the highly adjustable sport seats..
Just looking for another positive by not getting a loaded coupe
Generally the only way I roll when ordering a vehicle.

I think that's (3179 as advertised by GM at least) actually the weight of the base/no option (2005 1SX) car, likely a manual, automatics weigh slightly more.

My 05 1SX weighs 3046 with approx. 5 gallons of gas.

That sounds about right. I wieghed mine at the race track [Z51], 3400 lbs. Half tank of gas & me in it.
My C6 A6 1LT weights 3156,thats whats on the title.
On the title itself or was that on the shipping papers/bill of lading? Curious if that is a standard number the factory and trucking company uses or did they actually weigh each car prior to shipping and how much fuel was in it when weighed (likely the same very few gallons they always put in at the factory).
The 3LT package adds 64lbs to the car compared to 1LT. I know this because in Canada our base Corvettes come with all the 3LT options already, and the curb weight of our cars is listed at 3243
Something that adds weight is the Z51 package which I went with on my order, it has the larger rotors, beefier sways, possibly heavier tires, the extra coolers. Wonder how much weight that adds?? Be interesting to find some factory specs, I'm sure the vette production team has the figures somewhere.
Another thing to remember about curb weight is that it includes a full tank of gas too. And since gas weighs approximately 6.2 pounds per gallon, you can see that you can save a lot of weight by simply running your car below 1/2 tank all the time.

Mine is exactly 3200 with 1/2 tank of gas, nobody in it. It's a convertible though.

3179 was the number thrown around when the car was first introduced but that was for the coupe only and I don't think it took into account the weights of the various weight adding options such as 1SB (3LT), Nav and Z51...convertibles were quoted as being 20 pounds more as well at 3199 but keep in mind that 'verts also come standard with the slightly heavier 1SA (2LT) package as well.
