Still need help on choosing an air intake system. Which is best? Keep in mind, I live in Florida where heavy downpours are pretty common and this is my everyday ride. Thanks!

Vararam is the performance leader, but you have a slight risk of water ingestion. Also, due to being a ram air, you will have to clean your filter much more often (every 5000 miles)
K&N is the easiest to install (15-20 minutes) and if you cut a couple holes in your front plastic air duct (on either side of the radiator) to bring cooler air in, you will get some performance gain.
It is also inexpensive at under $300 shipped.
Since it is not a ram air, you can get away with very infrequent cleaning of the filter, once a year at the most.
I had initially ordered a Vararam, but cancelled and switched to the K&N.

Vararam, its not the nicest looking cold air intake but it is a very good performance intake. I just installed mine last week, I am very happy with it. I like how you can hear the air suck in when you rev the engine, sounds cool.
I just recieved my vararam and will install it soon.
I also recieved the percut shroud to make an easier install.
Defintly a quality part hope the performance is as nice.

Removing and putting in the new shroud is not fun, go slow and be patient.
I put a body color Hurricane on mine and it looks very good. Decent Ram Air effect due to cut out shroud.
With the rain you have in Florida you best bet may be the KN chrome dual unit. Good looks and not hydro concerns. Had one on my C5......

They would be my two recommendations.

I also was afraid of the Vararam, but if you want max performance, I think it's the one to get. Not only do you get some ram effect, but it guarantees better than all of them that you will be ingesting the coldest air possible.
With all that, I wimped out and got the K&N. It's very well built. CBFR and I ran a quick experiment that showed even without the side holes I was getting inlet air about 2 to 3 degrees above ambient. I still may drill some holes in the front.
I like vararam. But I have not tried any of the others.
What I like about the vararam is it gets 100% of its air from outside of the hood. I also like the idea of my intake outlet being in the air stream of the vehicle.
From the looks of it some of the others are superior on fit and finish though.
Vararam has also improved their customer service. I know I have been doing business with them on three vettes since 03.
