Thats what the car was built for wasn't it? As much as it hurts some of the old farts around here, I race the car every chance I get, any time I get the chance. But pickings are slim, and the timing isnt always right. I could take it to the track, but to me thats boring sitting in line waiting for your chance to run down the track. So, I practice on the street, waiting for those rare chances to get the blood going....

street is dangerous, the track is 4 or 5 twenty minute sessions per day.
You need to practice at the track. To many things can go wrong on a street trying to practice drag racing.
Go on a week night to the track and you can get all the practice you need.
I've been racing on the street for 30 years, and in cars a lot faster than this one. I don't like the track, its boring. I think you guys missed the point that I prefer to race on the street, not the track.

No we did not miss that point.
When you run over some little kid you may get the point.
Someone needs to organize one of these for Firebird (Chandler, AZ) in January or February. All you guys freezing your butts off in the East could take a nice winter trip out here and have some fun!
I agree!! From Park City, UT Arizona is managable. Virginia is not.
What about rules regarding 'Verts? Will Verts that break 13 (meaning stock) be allowed to run w/o roll hoops? "Rumor" has it that at Atlanta dragway I could run until someone complained (at a grudge match) and then I would be escorted off the track and 'banned', since I already know I can run "around" and 12.65 on an unprepped slightly uphill road (from an undisclosed private stretch of road ) per a GT2 Timer.
Unfortunately Vert will be limited to 13.50 and slower legally without a roll bar (5-point, not just hoops) or a hardtop. Either a roll bar or hard top wil l allow you to run as quick as 11.50.
Yes
It would be great to have a Corvette only event at Autoclub Dragway in Fontana.. The every other month Saturday street legal races takes so long to get a few runs in and your racing with suvs, pick ups and a few 10 sec.pro streets. Irwindale Thrursday nights is better but it is a 1/8 mile.

Did you know we already have a West Coast Corvette Challenge that goes to Fontana? This year's was cancelled because of the construction but we should be back next year. The series races mostly at LACR but does travel a little including a trip to The Strip in Vegas. Check out www.corvette-challenge.com

Street is easy not real competition or rules. Race where the competition is at the track. Sure the odds are more likely to hit a squirrel but the consequences are not the same. Guess low odds like Lotto but when you hit it's big.
