Default Vararam?

Hey Guys!
Many of you provided great advice about which exhaust to get on my 07. I received delivery 3 weeks ago of my car and installed the Bullets/prt system 3 days ago. Love it! Now I need advice on intake systems. I'm thinking vararam since I have seen it mentioned repeatedly on this forum. Is this the best? Will I gain some HP with it (remember my previous threads... mostly ignorant about mods, but learning fast).
Thanks

The Vararam is probably one of the best units for the C6 due to it's design and air delivery to the throttle body. When you get the Vararam for the C6, make sure to install the C6 throttle body spacer at the same time for the added power.

If you have any questions regarding the Vararam and spacer, feel free to email us.

Thanks!

Shawn

the only item i may add would be a 'racemesh screen', just to help keep leaves, paper, etc. out of the scoop.

I've recently added a VaraRam and throttle body spacer. Woke the car up. Noticeable power increase by the SOTP method.

whats "SOTP" mean? So you did notice an increase in power over your stock c6 after adding a Vararam and spacer? Did you get a tune or let the onboard computer do the adjusting?

Did you notice a difference in your MPG..did it get better, worse, or stay the same?

SOTP = Seat Of The Pants.........Change in power not shown or confirmed by a dyno run, just based on what you feel driving the car.

Here is a link to my install write-up:

http://www.shockerracing.com/phpBB2/...pic.php?t=1380

This was installed on my friends car and it really woke the car up! Also, it sounds awesome when it sucks the air in. He has had many people ask him if the car had a turbo on it!

The Vararam itself is not very long to install or the spacer for that matter....it's that damn shroud that takes the time! Of course after doing it once it would be easier the second time....but that first time is not a pinic. Best I can say is take your time, and be paitent!

It took me about 3 hours with the pre-cut shroud. I was taking my time so could have shaved atleast an hour but I was conducting my monthly mechanical psychotherapy. I probably could do it much faster now having already done and we'll see as I will be doing my buddies car soon. If you were hurried, probably could do it in less than 2 hours (Without a car lift as in my case)

I keep seeing people saying that it would help to have a lift to install the Vararam. Is this just necessary for swapping the precut shroud? I installed the Vararam without a lift(even though I have one) and can't see any reason that a lift would help.

Well... I am mechanically challenged and I'll take it to my mod shop to do. What would be a fair price to install?

you don't need a lift to install a vararam.

You can cut an hour off the install of the Vararam if you don't use the precut shroud, which has to be trimmed anyway, at least mine did. Take your time and cut your shroud. A piece of particle board between the shroud and the AC condensor will prevent any accidents. I think the one I used 13"-14" high and @19"wide. It'll sit on the air deflector and you won't go oops!

Vararam Is great, also Hurricane, Honker, & Vortex Rammer are great as well. Good luck, I'd go with the Vararam personally!
