I have a problem with the center consol always creaking/squeaking 2006 3LT. I have had this noise that the dealer states that they cannot find. It is very irritating. On smooth roads you can barley hear it, on rough roads you can always hear it. When I drive long distances, it is way irrititating, I always have to turn up my radio so I don't hear the noise. I have the navy system with the dual climate control and when the dealer test drives it, they said they cannot hear it. From 10mph-90mph+ you can hear it. Any one have the same problem?
From exactly where the noise comes from? Mine makes noise from temperature controller panel and yes it's annoying. I'm going to fix it myself when I change the shifter. I don't think dealership guys care about small finishing problems.
BTW, my Lexus GS350 makes noise from front dash too. Damn, isn't Lexus supposed to have higher quality control?

I had this problem with my C5 and got fixed. Try a just a little silicone grease on the hinge points and on the latch. Let us know what happens.
I will go the dealer to see what they can do about it, for the third time. They said they claimed to put silicone, took off the whole navy/climate control, and put it back on, but I doubt it!

I have used this technique on a number of cars including Corvettes with great success.
First, using your open palm or fist, smack various places around where you think the rattle or squeak is located. Using various levels of force and placement of the hityou will start to hear the offensive noise.
Second, once you are now able to recreate the sqeak or rattle, you have to locate it. It is helpful in a quiet garage. Move your head and ears around until you can pinpoint it. This may take a while since you must train your ear to listen for the right noise and pin point where it is. Patients will help.
Next, once you have pinpointed the squeak, depending on where it is located, use peal and stick foam tape between the two pieces rubbing. I especially like the soft loop part of Velcro. This stuff is made from Nylon, so it should last a long time. I once had a small steel bracket under the dash make a very irritating squeak and the only way I was able to stop it was replacing the bolt.
