Cam install Labor Hours?
If I were you I'd even reconsider retracting your claim, everyone right now knows you are lying and you are only kidding yourself.
A cam swap on a C6 inside of 2 hours????I'd pay to see that.
http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=1
While this is a C5 and did involve taking the heads off, it would take at least 2 hours to get all of the $#!* out just to get to the stock cam, even if you left the heads on.
Then there is getting the new cam in and buttoning everything back up.
Frankly CYA-Vett, and while I am not doubting you, I am amazed that anyone can claim even 6 hours. 2 is completely out of the question and about as believable as a man disassembling an entire car in 2 hours. You must really be moving. Are you working alone?
You could build 20 C6s a week all by your lonesome. Just bring him the parts and watch him work. You could replace about a dozen workers in that plant, and go a long way towards solving GMs financial problems.
UDRIVESLOW????? You sure don't work slow.

the labor depends on what i think of you...
I normaly only charge 500 bucks for labor...
if i do it at the dealership..
ill have to charge the 16.5 hrs at 86$per hr....
so it pays to be cool..
just think before you talk...
how many of you guys( not the other dealer techs out there)
remove every thing as the book says?try this.. remove the hood....
remove the valve covers, rocker arms, push rods....
remove the air filter, intake tube, and air front air scoop. remove the p/s pump ***. alternator, water pump. remove the radiator and condensor (THIS SHOULD TAKE NO MORE THAN 45 MINUTES)
p/s rack..(not the front suspension and sub frame) remove the harm. balancer.
remove front cover..
remove the timing chain and gear from the cam.. spin the cam ...
remove cam..
reverse to install...
if you cant do it in under 2 hrs... thats why you dont work at a corvette dealership........
AND I WOULD NEVER ATTEMPT TO SAY OR MAKE PEOPLE THINK THAT I COULD TAKE THE PLACE OF THE HARD WORKING STAFF AT GM..
THEY ARE SOME OF THE HARDEST WORKING GUYS AND GALS I KNOW..
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR BUILDING SUCH A GREAT SPORTS CAR..
I LOVE IT... THANK YOU...AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I've R&R'd 2 clutches on these cars with a buddy, the 2nd time went a lot faster, about 8 hours and we're not techs. I actually think these cars are not bad at all to work on, compared to the old iron I'm used to (I've got a 71 442 vert and a 72 Hurst/Olds). I guess because none of the bolts are rusted in place on the Vette!!

It's ok if you made up the entire story, it's time to cut your losses and own up to it. We're talking about a cam swap, not an air cleaner swap.
This thread is getting laughable.

Deep fried all the way, inject marinade of your choice the night before, cook 3 minutes per pound @ 350 degrees. Best bird you will have ever ate.

Congrats on the new child (soon)
Shortly you won't have 2 hours to do anything.
Maybe you can limit yourself to 1/2 hour head swaps??
