Default Coolant temp gauge problem

I just went for a drive in my car and was suprise to see in the DIC Hot Engine Turn AC Off. It's 60 degrees outside and the temp gauge reads xxx degrees on the DIC and all the way down on the left on the dash board gauge. The oil temp reads 176 degrees. I hope that its is only a problem with the gauge but the fact that I just had an electric water pump installed worries me. Iwill be taking the car to my tuner. Have anyone else had this problem before?

it probably has a air lock bubble, let cool completely a couple times and check fluid level.

make sure your maf harness is plug in. pcm use that data to compare to ECT to know if it is a cold start or not.

Yeah that might worry me as well, it if isn't functioning properly it could send your coolant temps through the roof.

Just had my tuner (Horsepower Sales) in Florida check the car. He found the check engine code and reset it. Apparently the electric water pump is flowing so much more water that the computer is setting off a code. on my 30 mile ride home in 80 degree weather,, my coolant temperature never went above 171 degrees @ a crusing speed of 80-85 mph. used Ls2 edit to turn off the code.

If that is the case then I think a higher thermostat temp is in order, not turning off the codes. Do you know what the code was?
