Default C6 tire question

I want to replace my stock C6 (F55) front and rear wheels. I have seen some aftermarket setups and a few coupes with Z06 style wheels. They look awesome.

My C6 came with 245/40/18's and 285/35/19's. I have followed some threads that have suggested that my car will take 275/35/18 fronts and 305/30/19 rears and Z06 rims with an "offset".

Any help in clearing up what an offset is and what size tires and rims will work with this setup would be appreciated!

Cheers!

Here's a link that gives a basic explanation of offset.

You want to run 56 mm offset for the front and 73 mm offset on the rear, especially if you will be doing a big brake upgrade. ACE SLICK has a beautiful set of Z06 style wheels for about $1200.00. You can get them thru L.A.P.D. for $999.95 shipped if they still have their group purchase going.
The size you are looking at for the front (275) is the widest you should go and and 325 on is max for the rear with 305 the ideal size.
Use 18X9.5 wheels for the front and 19X11 for the rears.
There are other combination you can go with, but I'll leave that for others to discuss.

550-575 tq and hp @ rear wheels. I will be posting all the info once install gets underway. Right now my APS TT and APS 3" exhaust are hung up in customs because of the holidays backlog/shutdown. Let us know what you end up with on the wheels.
